4 pot
Any older Alfa running the 1.7l boxer engine. Decent aftermarket exhaust and it sounds like a Scoob but nicer and bang and pops on the overrun. I love that car (sob).

I'm gonna stick up for the 4 pot.

25 seconds in. If this doesn't warm your cockles, then you are officially not a petrolhead.

Olly - fair enough that does sound pretty good. Dad's mk1 Cooper S (supercharged) also makes a nice noise for a 4 pot. Love that whining induction noise!

Do I detect a wee bias towards the Nissan TdW?

That does sound pretty good admittedly.

Maserati Gran Turismo - sounds truly gorgeous

This is OK - much better in real life even when not being revved.

I got caught out the other day, thinking what is that it sounds awesome......

Was a Bazzed up V6 Vectra circa 98 vintage with a big zorst.

I felt dirty,

But is sounded fantastic.

Lotus Esprit in Wilmslow this morning, sounded great in a cement mixer mixing bricks kind of way, all wastegate and spitting back, suspect it was not standard.

My Saab sounds like a hoover !
