Bob Rawle has mapped 3 Impreza's for me - I trust him and his advice without question. I do not really care if an OS map is £225 I pay for Bob's expertise and considerable experience after all he's been doing it since god was a boy (sorry Bob if you read this).

I could start carrying out OS mapping after all I already have most of the necessary equipment - a laptop and a OBDII lead I just need to buy the necessary sensors and detcans and I am away.

OS maps for £50 anyone, just sign my disclaimer first...

Just OBD cable and laptop is little bit poor to start mapping. You must little bit understand what to do and how to do.
If you fancy try,map your car car first....

Bob R i don't comment anyone work, everyone here is good mapper which have good result...

TX, I was being flippant yes about the OS pricing and yes I understand about having to build reputations but I do find EM's further post in effect saying that established mappers whether they be OS or Ecutek are having peoples pants down a bit condescending as well.

Like I said earlier I pay for experience and expertise and it really doesn't matter in the bigger picture if I pay £225 or £500+ for a mapping session.

I know EM is new to the SN forum and I wish him well in his business, but call me a cynic but I'm always wary of any business than dramatically undercuts its competitors.

Cannon Fodder: Every mapper start somewhere, some start business as OS mapper and later just switch to EcuTek,you cannot be OS mapper and EcuTek dealer, these two thing don't go together, and some start as OS mapper and still is OS mapper, why? This you can tell some mappers...
This debate about the EcuTek vs OS is just can with worms, which is still about the same....

I was being sarcastic about myself starting OS mapping, I don't have the time or inclination to try mapping.

Agreed, I didn't quite mean it like that. Bob, Simon, Duncun, Steve etc etc all have a reputation good or bad because they have earnt it.

I'm a pretty chilled out person and I don't want to offend, my price is the price a customer will pay end of. Results will speak for themselves. Derogatory comments because you don't know me and or about my price are quite unfounded as none of the respondants have had any of my services, however you are allowed your own opinion unfortunately! lol

Jura, to be honest I wouldn't care if Bob Rawle used OS instead of Ecutek as i have said twice before I'm paying for his time, experience and expertise.

I don't want to start a debate on the merits of OS vs Ecutek either, it would drag on for x amount of months...

Sorry I shouldn't have phrased my initial post in a sarcastic manner and given hindsight (which is a wonderful thing) I would have changed the tone.

I really do wish you well and it's just a pity you are up in Goggland as South Wales does not have 1 single mapper who I or anyone else i know would take my/their car to.

[edit] sorry there is one - Indigo GT but they tend to specialise more in the dark side ie Mitsubishi.

Im not fussed whether its Ecutek or Open Source (have used both) as long as the Map / Mapper is good. And in these days of financial hardship the price is also a very important factor.

About time we had a little sense brought to the world of 'mapping'. I could never imagine paying someone silly money to tap a few keys which might give me a couple of bhp. Of course your value for money approach wont go down too well with the established crowd.

Roflol!!

I wouldn't trust some of the "established" mappers to map my lawnmower! I don't give a stuff about how long someone has been going for, or what "apparent" reputation they have.

Dig around and you soon start to unearth a few "things".

What has this got to do with this? Give the guy a chance everyone has to start somewhere on here, and I bet most of you lot will be blowing smoke up his **** within 6 months anyhow.
