Not starting another WRX vs STi thread , all i am trying to say is a wrx makes a good road car, its never going to be a track car but in the same way a STI will never be a relaxed and comfy for touring. If the guys is looking for a Wagon then maybe the gains that the STI gives are much lower on his priorities

Ideal then decat the second pipe, remap and you'll get 280/310 ish which is perfect for your needs Gear box and chassis wont be over stretched either.
