IMHO from the engines I heard running built by Dave Co all have sound really good and quiet with very little noise in the way of piston slap etc.

I've heard other engines built by different companies which sound like a bag of nails even when upto temperature, due to excessive ring clearances.

I think its more the monkeys he has working for him than the man himself, but at the end of the day their getting him a bad name. I wouldnt go back personally but each to their own.

I don't know about that, he'll have you believe he built the engine in his car. He didn't.

I have to speak as I find, Dave some jobs for me and I didn't have any problems.

Dave did the work himself but i have heard of others having problems *cough* due to schoolboy errors in all probability carried out by the 'monkey's' who work there.

It's just a pity that Dave doesn't sort out his problems, then he'd have a far happier customer base.

I pass Daves on a regular basis and there aint many Imprezas there anymore. Lots of "ordinary" cars and 4x4's. I would personally steer clear unless it's a last resort. He told me i needed a new turbo 60k ago
