Welcome along good luck finding the problem! I'm sure of the MAF was faulty the car would be very hesitant and jerky!! Mine wouldn't go over 4k revs and it was the HKS filter that killed it! I went through 7 MAFs before I changed for a K&N and had no more dramas!!

Dan,
Just seen your PM.
Tyron to the rescue again, well done mate
Well worth getting it mapped asap before anything more costly happens.

You definitely need a remap, your AFR's are all over the shop and your MAF is so confused as it has not been rescaled to suit the induction kit, Dean below had a MAF/AFR issue when he changed his induction cone from one manufacturer to another.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

That's me, super Tyron - just as well that I wear my boxers on the inside of my trousers.

Hi Dan, I have the same car & same problem. So far I've done the maf, knock sensor, cam piston sensor, spark plugs & boost solonoid. You really need to do a logged road test, when I done mine it showed my advance multiplyer dropping & kept taking timing out all over the place. Everytime the ecu was reset the car would run fine for half a day & then throw a pissy fit again. I have just had a Rom update & the car is running like a peach. Is the sluggishness more apparent on half throttle?

ye its only sluggish if you hit the throttle hard it doesnt just get up and go it takes time to wind up if u now what i mean. from what cannon was say it does need a remap and as long as i can get the cash together then i think it will go to bob on the 8th.

Drive your car gently until after it has been mapped or it could all end in tears. From what has been descrived, it very much sounds like bits have been added to the car, particularly FMIC that was probably not needed and induction and so far the map has not been attended to. If you have weak holes in the map which is more than likely you can melt a piston if you run the car on boost before that condition is taken care of.

I'm surprised that changing the MAF has improved things dramatically, it was showing a high voltage reading peaking at just about 3.0 volts but I put this down to the fact that the MAF input had not been rescaled to the induction kit fitted with the different/increased air flow.

Once you've had the car remapped I'd be interested in carrying out another diagnostic run just to see what the MAF voltage readings are.

Did you contact manage to contact Bob yet?

Well I have now got to the bottom of the problem. Duncan at race Dynamix came down thur and we went out trying to map the car. After a few goes it still wouldn't boost right getting to full boost at around 5k. Cannon ur right the fual was every where as some one had Tryed to have a go at mapping it. Lol. After getting back and looking over the car the only thing we came up with was the uppipe cat must be blocked. Got my self an Sti uppipe put that on today and bam she now boost nicely at 3 to 3.5 k. So Duncan is comeing back on Thursday to finish it off. I can't wait. ThAnks for all the help and advice guys.

The good old dave coe i haven't a clue whats wrong so it has to be the dump valve. How many more times are we going hear that ****e reasoning.

DC's new one is "split in the oil filter" Rich Mate of mine took his 4x4 in for a full service there. Not long after leaving DC's the oil light came on. My mate topped up the oil and returned, driving very slowly. After an inspection, DC states that the new top quality oil filter they fitted during the service had split (very common obviously), causing swift oil loss Another happy customer that will never return then, avoid DC's at all cost people, speak as you find.

Well done to Duncan for finding out the root cause of the problem

I'm glad that you are now sorted and the car will be running properly, and even better (for me anyway) I got something right.
