South Africa beat Bangladesh so we are through to the quarter finals.

Australia are getting their ***** handed to them at the moment by Pakistan, if Pakistan win then we play Sri Lanka and Australia play India. What a result.....one of the favourites definitely out.

Well, it's the first game of the knock out stage and the West Indies are already in trouble.

Predictions?

Pak v WI = PAK
Ind v Aus = IND
SA v NZ = SA
SL v ENG = ENG

The names on the cup boys!

There's only one winner, the ICC.

Sipping Champers as we speak, counting the cash whilst totally ignoring the pathetic bans they meted out to the three PAK cheats that were caught.

PAK all out for under 112, anyone fancy a punt, I have connections on the sub continent who have given me the nod

Other than that Englland to p1ss it

Not a brilliant run rate so far, a few lucky umpire decisions and the usual problems during the power plays.

I'm very very nervous.

229 for 6.

Murali looks hurt and Malinga looks like a drag queen

It's all up to us now, a decent enough total to defend. All we have to do is keep the extras down and don't drop the catches.

No comments about Punter calling it a day as Cappo ??

Bit of a nasty ***** at times but an absolute legend of the game imo, I wonder if he'll play county over here for a couple of seasons. The unusual thing about him stepping down is with Aus Cricket when you give up the captaincy it's usually because you're retiring from 1st class Cricket or International Cricket, I cant remember the last Aussie captain to stand down and continue playing International Cricket. Obviously he has stated he wants to continue playing and hopes to get picked, due to the state of Aussie Cricket I cant see them not picking him.

Cheering on NZ this morning

I was going to but have had meetings all bloody day.

Best captain they've ever had but will be remembered for all the bad things unfortunately. Not loved by the media in Australia and I think that playing on will only ruin what reputation he has left. Australia are not the team they used to be and that will go down as his fault. He was the captain on watch that lost The Ashes. To do it once is bad luck......

Don't get me wrong I'll cheer as loud as the next bloke when he chops onto his stumps

But I'd hope that he'd play on and have an Indian summer to his career I can see him doing a Tendulkar, a huge weight will be lifted from is shoulders, I dont believe he's finished i'd put money on him regaining some form and centuries for Oz.

I suppose on paper he is the most sucessful captain but I'd put Tubby Taylor, Border Waugh ahead of him, in that order, as for me they were more intelligent captains. But in Pontings defence lets not forget they also had quality around them maybe not to extent of that Ponting had, he was blessed playing with some of those players and taking aside his personality it seems to me the criticism he's getting and has had for 2.5 years is a little unfair, it aint his fault 11 world class players retired in the space of 3 seasons an it was all left to him, the Aus selectors aren't the best bunch.

As you say 3 Ashes defeats sticks in the gut foir any Aussie and they focus on that and forget what a great player he was/is, the Gary Neville of Cricket

I've mentioned it before but I didn't meet anyone in Aus that had a good word for him.

I give Clarke absolutely no chance s captain, 12-18 months tops, just dont rate him and he loves the celebrity lifestyle.

A BIG day of cricket today. I hear that India have given a half day holiday or something so that everyone can watch it, mental.

I can't see Pakistan winning it but I hope it's going to be another thrilling match. One to look forward to.
