Does anyone enjoy their job????

what that means is he sits on his ***, reads 300 mails a day and tells all his inferiors to get a bloody move on. (rsquire that is)
Me,i used to love my job, started at the bottom and worked my way up, did loads of R&D work on our companies new products working with the old chairman directly. (who is a complete car nut )
We were bought out by a bigger company, old chairman is gone, now i am just a number and its toss.
I get bored incredibly easily, need to be doing interesting new stuff all the time and thats not happening anymore.
I work as a team leader in a software company running the Oracle DBA team.
Plus side is i get a company scoob and enough dosh to do stuff i would never have dreamed of 10 years ago. I aint paid huge dosh but better than the average working guy thank god.

Some good replies there from everyone - cheers
I suppose at the end of the day we are all in a similar boat, I think I am finding it difficult at the mo - I was thrown into the job and handed all of the problems to sort out. Maybe it will get better I have a meeting on Tuesday and haven't signed my contract as yet so we'll see. I am one of 8 managers in the dept though and 7 of us have extra benefits such as car etc. Guess who doesn't have a car Doesnt do much for morale I can tell you!!!
For those who work for yourselves, what do you do?
p1 media - I would come and work for you if I lived darn sarf - what happened to you on the Docklands night out as well

yeah, enjoy my job most of the time.
be nice to have one that lets me work even 7 hours a day. usually its 11+
in IT, senior systems engineer for the EA dealing with Regional / National Projects.
salary could be much better ! but a stint of contracting at least let me buy my MY00 !

'fraid to say that for the most part I love my job
Amongst my wide & varied role (so complex that the MD doesn't even know my role ) I get to play with 'puters, comms, m'bikes, cars & must be the highest paid carpenter I know!
The **** side is that my MD is from the Genghis Khan Diploma Doctorate School of Management & sometimes it makes you feel like walking out on the spot either that or clumping him.
However, on the whole its great - it must be to put up with above, drive 130 miles to work & back & wotk 10+ hrs day
Mind you, if a job came up in Cambs...

buddy - you must be plastering half of the buildings in Lancashire to run your Scoob - what a beast it is
Tell you what, at least with plastering I wouldn't be stuck in an office full of Hitlas getting arseache in the uncomfortable chairs. Bring the plaster on

You should do what I did - was so fed up working for computer resellers, that I joined the Royal Marines. Best move I ever made.
Couldn't bare to part with my Scoob so decided to do it part-time through the Reservists. Now I do contracting to earn a living, but the training's made me fitter and healthier than I've ever been.
Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but the training's the best form of therapy I know. If you want to completely forget all the cr*p you've put up with during the day, then this is the best cure ever

Well, I love my job, get to play with really big computers and I work from home most of the time. Work is interesting and I get to use my brain.
OK, so the pay is cack, don't get a company car etc. But one plus side is if I do need to go anywhere, its Avis hire cars (which we all know are the fastest cars on the planet)
Give it up for a higher paid job ? I don't think so
Cheers
