I agree Arch a tad harsh maybe but they reduced the warranty on them down to 450bhp for reason. Again I agree in that the only one worth having is the PPG 6 speed dog kit. But then you do pay a hefty premium for one.

I honestly think a standard six speed conversion is hard to beat, bang for buck. They are significantly stronger and significantly cheaper than a PPG setup. The ratios are short but it doesnt really affect things too much. My only gripe was for quarter mile stuff and having to change to 5th way before the line. Still managed a 10 sec run with it though. For the day to day on the road stuff it really wasnt an issue.

The 6 speed dog kit is a very expensive proposition as you first need a six speed casing then the cost of the 6 speed dog kit plus set up - ouch.
The dog rings do wear but its by far the best race set up in terms of pure gear change but like everything it comes at a price and thats maintenance and replacement of dog rings or dog gears in PPG's case.

For a road car as Daz says 6 speed seems the logical way to go.
