Cheers just had a look and they are pretty good price wise too

Don't search for it - ARGOS it!

Happened to be in Makro the other day, huge range of toasters there, but they look to try to be as technical as possible, when they only do one thing.

Missus bought a Dualit one. Looks expensive to me, but that is the sort of thing she does!

Go cheap I say. If it is naff then just chuck it and get another one.

I have had two Dualit toasters and they have both failed

For the same money you could buy twenty COB toasters and be sorted for life!

I'm sure there are plenty of people who buy cheap toasters, just they obviously don't post on here

OK I bit the bullet and got a Breville - £25.

I hope that price meets with everyone's approval. Not cheap as chips as I promised myself but half of my budget... just for you Andy

Thanks to all who contributed, I'm off to have some (perfect) toast

Good call.

Had a Breville sandwich toaster which cost me £20 (on sale from £40). Was brilliant but the non stick covering came off too soon so binned it as was not paying £20 for new plates (plus P&P). Bought a cheapo Cookworks one for £7 and it's been fine since.

I hope it's not the same one I have. Piece of cr*p can't even fit four slices of bread without partially overlapping them. Nothing I hate more than toast with soft bits. I'm hoping it breaks soon and I can justify buying something else.
