If she's the one on the right I agree Maybe I will look at the EDL in a new light LOL
Funnily eniugh a friend of mine joined the BNP 3 years ago and she is a looker too. With my politics we had some interesting discussions but in the end she left the party as I think she got a bit of a shock when she went to a local meeting!

Interesting reading this thread - at least we all know where the sympathy of Scoobynet lies.
I accidentally went to a UAF/EDL shindig. It was in Newcastle last year. I happened to drive into the city centre one day and was puzzled by the huge number of police in a wider perimeter around Newcastle (service station at Washington was full of police vans etc).
Also there were a large number of people coming into town with English flags, EDL sweatshirts, England foot ball shirts.
We then went up to Grey's Monument and there was a stage and around 3-400 people milling around. Mostly looking like student activists - some typical union style speakers and a band were playing.
The difference between the two groups was marked.
One group milling about, listening to TDW style speeches on the structure of society and listening to some faux reggae band.
The other group marching up and down the police cordon, chanting and singing. Charging like rabid dogs at the police.
As I understand it, the news reports echoed what I saw. Well controlled by a MASSIVE police presence from all over the UK, some EDL numpties getting banged up for breach of the peace type activities and the UAF having a dull as you like union meeting in the middle of it all.

Here was my original post with pictures. Oh, as for being only against Sharia law - as most of you know I am not quite 100% caucasian and boy did I get some abuse when I drove past this lot!

From my limited perspective of being on both sides of the barrier (albeit unwittingly).
The UAF dangerously threatened me as a walked amongst by violently 'leafletting' me!
The EDL screamed verbal abuse at my wife and myself, as well as making threatening gestures. Luckily we were in moving traffic and they were on the other side of a barrier. We had genuine fear the traffic would get jammed up as we passed them.
Pretty simple really - one group made me fear for my safety, the other made me fear for my political sanity and a paper cut.

Yup i condone it - kill them *******! Happy now?
I have said this a number of times but here we go again for the hard of thinking
No, I do not condone this sort of behaviour be it from black, white or whatever religion or persuasion it is unacceptable in the country! 'High spirits' is not an excuse.
I do not believe all the EDL mob abused Trout and/or his lady wife - I understand that there where some 2000+ EDL supporters unless he says otherwise - did all of them make threats - could it be a minority or a group within the group.???
Sadly I have been to football matches and heard racist abuse hurled at players - does that make all the supporters in the stadium supporting that team racist???
What the EDL and BNP have working for them is NL's Multiculturalism and integration experiment. It has created splits and divides within communities and fostered distrust and unease which the likes of the EDL and BNP capitalise on. Of course the EDL and BNP attract the far right as these parties are closest to their ideals and values.
However the problems of home grown extremists blowing up buses and tubes in London and jeering our troops marching though a town such as Luton also upset and unsettle middle England, yes Middle England, not just the DM readers and Jeremy Kyle show wannabes and the right wingers just looking for an excuse for trouble.
I do not have any problem or issue with Muslims or Islam in the same way i do not have a problem with any religion. I always see the person first, their colour or religion is not that important to me and as i said in an earlier post their actions and motives are the criteria on which i judge (for want of a better word) them on.
I do have a BIG problem with those who commit evil acts and encourage others to do so whilst using (ANY) religion and justification and an excuse/reason.
Time will tell if Cameron is right and that he means what he says. From my POV if you want to live here then do so respectfully and by the rules and contribute to community and society as a whole. If however you find it at odds with your belief system and cultural ideals them perhaps this is not the right place for you.

Weyman Bennett, the UAF joint secretary who organised the protest, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit violent disorder, police said.
Several protesters were taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Weyman Bennet is hardly a good advert and face of the UAF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13fgk...eature=related (ignore the red comments/captions as i haven't the time to find an unmolested version)

This is in no way a defence or to justify the EDL this is to point out that the UAF are hardly angels themselves.

Sure not every single on of the 2000 that day abused Trout and his wife, but by the very fact they areall happy to stand side by side with people who behave like that makes them the same as those actually doing the abusing in my book.
Sorry Paul, I know you love England and want to see its cultures and character maintained, but the EDL are not the answer or even a small part of the solution, quite the opposite.
And yes I know you aren't a member... well I hope not
Oh and for the record I think the UAF are just as bad in many ways!

If I belonged to an organisation that behaves like many members of that organisation do I wouldn't belong to it any more nor would any other sane level headed person with half a brain.

I do not think you can defend the indefensible - IMHO
I have been to football matches where racist chants hand abuse have been hurled and quite close to it and it does not mean i condone or joined in in fact i was pretty disgusted but would not stop supporting the club and was unable to move positions - does that make me responsible or guilty by association - i think not!.
As i keep saying this unrest and unease has been created by NL's failed attempt at social engineering allowing extremism (from all sides) to rear its ugly head.
I think i have said enough.
