3 port boost solenoid allows boost increase to 1.3 bar. Without it ur limited to 1.1 bar. It makes a huge difference. On top of that you want an uppipe 2nd decat an 2.5inch system. Should show you 270 BHP. Full decat / sportcat and your looking 280 ish maybe more. Also 255lph fuel pump. You don't need inectors yet not STI cooler really all these help definitely but you need to choose mods that compliment each other.

They are valid points and it's not a cheap mod to do but it is well worth doing, the lag is barely noticable as the pressure drop is negligable!

THE WRX top mount is ****, plain and simple it is **** and when you start getting up to the the limits of the other parts i.e. Turbo there is going to be a lot of heat under there. As with anything when you start getting up to the limits of everything they start to become less effecient and a lot of "energy" is converted to heat etc which will result in you lossing BHP and the WRX intercooler is not best at coping with this.

THE STI top mount will help eliminate some of the heat issues the smaller intercooler will encure, it will also give you more room for movement later on as it is rated up to 400bhp.

the 440's will run 320bhp ish but you are limited to 280bhp by the turbo at 1.1ish bar which is the damn near as far as you can push it, SO I would put the top mount on, or if you have the time and inclanation stick a FMIC on it (this will result in some lag)

The extra cooling will help give the car consistent performance as well

If I am 100% honest with you, having done this a number of times, I would buy all the bits over time and then fit and map them otherwise you are going to spend a lot of time and moeny constantly remapping for mods!

yea cheers for the helpful post Stealth, well i was hoping to get it mapped in 2 weeks so i will pull my finger out and locate the parts but like everyone has said its best to get them all fitted before the remap saves time and money.

i dont want to go front mount so thr STI TMIC would be the better choice for me and im not bothered about doing the turbo at this time.

So all i need is the 3 port valve and the TMIC and maybe the de-cat up pipe.

would it pass mot with a stock catted downpipe on after the remap and all the mods on

Yes you will pass MOT with remap and catted downpipe, but i would advise/recommend look for sport cat.
Personally go for FMIC,with STi FMIC you will need STi scoop and STi Intercooler splitter.

nice one,

just spoken to Simon (JGM), very helpfull too

basically was advised to stick with the standard uppipe and TMIC, injectors for now becuase it will still make the 280bhp mark as the car is at the moment just add the 3 port valve

then when changing the uppipe change the turbo at the same time with the STI TMIC then remap it then.

which helps me a lot funds wise as i can then buy as and when :-)

thanks everyone for all your input, i will let you know how it turns out

but as you say the td04 turbo will be maxing at around 280bhp which the wrx intercooler is capable of handling and the power gain would not really be that noticable in normal daily driving and is alot of money once you consider adding piping scoop and undertray i agree its a good mod to have but not really needed at theese power levels

Nope they are definitely 380's 440's on the last of the classics but they then reverted back to 380's on the wrx's for some strange reason so unless someone changed yours they will be 380's.
