Another thing to consider.
I used to work with a guy who did 30,000 plus miles a year and had a 2008 320d. He ended up swopping it for an Audi A4 due to chronic back pain! So try before you buy as company car specs are woeful in some cases.

Still surprised people do the skoda jokes though, especially car fans
When I see most of their range I think smart car! Especially their Octavia estates.
Anyway,enjoy the Beemer!

Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with a Skoda or any other car that gets you from A to B if thats what you need. I don't look down on the car or the owners but given the choice it has to be a no brainer to take the BMW (unless as stated the BMW is just too small)
No matter how grown up and mature I try and be about it I come from a generation where saying you owned a Skoda was enough to have people in hysterics.

Superb is more 5 series size, nice car and they get a good write up, but fitted with the Taxi spec engine it will make you cry, 100 bhp in a Golf is pretty tedious so in that it will be monumentally slow, ok, round town it will flatter to decieve and feel punchy but they are geared and mapped for just that, you think its pulling and if you keep your foot in it will go faster but then the horrible realisation comes when you do keep your foot in that was it, all the grunt served up in one tempting morsel and there is no main course coming.
BMW every time unless you can get a decent engined one, then the Skoda is worth considering.
Who do they make 100 bhp ones for, its one up from no engine at all !
Image wise, Skoda for me, nothing wrong with the BMW per sebut you would get respect is due off people who slag Skodas and dont actually have a clue that they arent cheaply made, rear engine, Eastern Bloc nastiness any more and havent been for the best part of thirty years.

Makes me consider taking the car instead of the cash but I do so few miles, nice thought though having a nice new motor turn up.
