Warren, Adam had mine over the last couple of days and mentioned you've had new brakes put on a few months ago. How are you finding them? I need to get some better ones myself.

Default Hope this counts as a Spec-D

All,

Just bought a MY06 STI Excutive as they call it here in the Netherlands.
I hope this counts as a Spec-D.....I want to believe it's close.

Limited edition delivered in CGM and UGM with black leather interior, grey/chrome ish 17" rims, black painted brake callipers and a-line spoiler.
It's bone stock for the rest.
Wheels have some scratches and will be repainted to gunmetal grey.
Looking into CBE upgrade first, need to decide on Milltek or H&S classic.
Want to keep the 'sleeper' look as much as possible.

Regards,

Daan

I have had my 56 spec D for over two years now and done some bits to it. Remap, up rated fuel pump new KW coil overs, White line anti roll bar, new stainless exhaust system fitted by Blueflame exhausts in St Helen's. Running st around 345 bhp. It drives brilliantly. It was a big improvement on my hawkeye WRX which I owned for 2 years before. Still only done 35k

No I didn't. They are inox variant 1s with adjustable height. I don't ever take it on a track so no real need for the extra cost of the adjustable damper types 2/3. It about 40 mm lower and feels much more planted on the motorway. A definite handling improvement. Felt a little floaty at times before. They were fitted by demon tweaks in Wrexham.

My HG is ok touch wood. Rear shocks went though at 33k. It's a common fault I believe with STIs generally. I was quoted nearly £300 per corner so I went for new coil overs from KW instead. Has your HG gone?

Yeah mine went 4 weeks after i bourght it. Just bad luck basically as I knew all the signs to look for when buying and none were showing until it went!
Just finished the 1000k run in from the API rebuild/forging now so can finally rev it over 4k for the first time since late June!

That said the day after I got it back from API I went to change the Discs and pads all round (all warped) and that is when I discovered the Brembo caliper bolt issue (that seems pretty common). First caliper i tried stripped the threads so i am back off road getting them heli-coiled locally. I'd do it myself but getting the bolts undone 'gently' while on a driveway just isn't possible! Joy!

Sounds like you've had some bad luck indeed. Stick with it though. It's a great car and sees off anything! Ive never seen another spec d around. They're getting rarer. Have you had anything else done to the car or is it STD?

100% Stock at the moment apart from the forging work and the Godspeeds when they go on. I am trying to keep the look as stock as possible (changed gold wheels that were on it for originals) but after i recover some of the outlay from the HG failure I will go the Whiteline tweaking route to begin with and then probably a map & turbo after that. Its my daily drive so I'm unlikely to go over 350bhp.... but how many people say that who are at 400+!!

You get increased sound deadening, black leather seats an updated sound system with blue tooth and built in sat nav. Black carpet instead of blue. It's only available in crystal grey. It comes debadged as well. To the untrained eye, they look like a WRX the only giveaway being the Brembo brake set up and STI alloys.

Good man! Sadly I doubt it'll ever hold much value on the collectors front purely as its trim level, not mechanicals that create its appeal. Who knows though (it'd be bloody great if it does after the cash i've shelled out on the engine!).

What age is the one you've bagged?

I sometimes think that about mine too about it being a collectors car one day and what with it being not my daily drive now the mileage in relation to its age are tumbling down. Oh well, we'll have to see what it's worth in another 10 years
Well done though for getting a spec d, have you picked it up yet?

You and me both Warren.

I just got an extremely over practical comedy Smart car to do all my short haul business travel to keep mileage and engine wear down on the Scoob.

49k on an 06 for the Spec-d with an API rebuild and max of 3k travel a year now! It is by no means my main aim as I want to just enjoy it now but I can't do much more to make it a future collectors piece now other than wrap it in bubblewrap every night!

What sort of mileage's are others in here on?

Hey guys,

Just bought my 5th impreza, a spec d

Here's my build thread

https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...or-detail.html

And a cheeky pic

http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423552693/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423552693/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr

Is there any form of build number for these and how do you know if its ppp or not?

Nice work mate and nice motor too! Welcome to the Spec D crowd.

Your detailing makes me feel bad about mine that I've not washed in like 2 months now... I do find the Impreza wears its mud well though and this weekend i fitted some Scoobyworld mud flaps which actually adds to the dirty look!

Pretty certain from the masters that started this thread that no build numbers are out there for Spec D's sadly.

Good luck finding an air vent for the Sat Nav hole... rocking horse **** unless you want to buy the whole dash as breakers never sell them seperatley. I'm still looking and so far £70 from Israel is the closest i've found!

Default SPEC D's 'THE LIST'

To give us an idea of how many Spec D owners there are on here, I thought It'd be good to get a list going. Lets just keep it simple with your name and first reg date/month. That would give us an idea of build numbers as none of the 300 spec d's weren't numbered.
