Default Fly Eye fitted

Well its a controversial mod but I had to try it given the low cost... Fly Eye kit fitted today after a wash.

Close up vid:

I must say I really like the look it gives on the crystal grey. I also like that it is one of very few ways to look a bit different while keeping a Spec-D exterior stock.

Time will tell on how it acts on the darkest of dark roads. So far not looking like making a massive light loss but yet to do a proper dark drive. If its crap then at least I can just peel it off and say I only lost a tenner and 45 mins! Bloody wonderful material to work with.

Sounds like a bloody good find!... did they forge it at all as part of the repair?

yeah it was a good find, in a dealers also so got some warranty as well as being able to trace the previous owner back to our local scooby forum so it all added up nicely!

wasnt lucky enough for a fully forged bottom end it just got the cosworth headgasket treatment by one of the local subaru specialists ~ £1200 repair bill in total just last year, receipt for work was in the service history!

I have a set of GRA's on mine, they've been refurbed darker though, are you going back to std alloys or going for something different?

Cheers Guys!

Went for another Spec D as I love the model, I always wanted one since they first came out but had to wait a few years before I could afford one.

1+ good question. WRX PPP's have the prodrive silicone hose under the TMIC but on an Sti do they have that? if not other than the Prodrive stamped tail pipe is there any way of visually knowing? (i assume the PPP kit still gets a certificate?)

Should be logged with Subaru too I think? My understanding was that even if the PPP kit was fitted after the original sale that it was arranged by a dealer. My WRX had this attached in the log book:
