I dont understand why all these terms are used, straight men dont get called "Fanny Bandits", "Minge Miners" or whatever, even disregarding the fact that straight couples have **** sex, I dont think being Gay is simply about **** sex and I am reliably informed that not all gay men engage in it.

I really dont think its a lifestyle "choice", its not like getting to sixteen and thinking surfing is cool and taking it up and ending up in the surfer lifestyle, i think that you have to fancy men and then the lifestyle bit comes after, again, not all gay men dress in tight t-shirts and peaked leather caps, some just are dead normal and only differ from a straight couple byt the fact they are the same sex.

Our Great fathers/grandfathers/great-grandfathers etc fought for this right and other freedoms that this country has/had.
It is better to havve views and opinions aired (as long as not inciting violence and hatred) and counter what you disagree with well thought out arguments.

Well said. The simple rule I think we should follow is don't speak in a way on the internet that you wouldn't in public. Use of the word paki/****** applies here. Nobody would start using that term in front of a group of asian or afro caribbean men, you know there would be no discussion a fight would start.
Some will argue until they are blue in the face that paki is not a derogatory term yet would never have the ***** to use it to a group of men of asian heritage. Why not? Because they know very well they would get a smack in the face.
I don't like being smacked in the face so I am careful how I speak to people in real life. I don't see why it should be any different on the internet, unless you are an inadequate who uses the internet to vent venom that you are to cowardly too do in real life.
Similarly, I wouldn't call a couple of gay guys some derogatory terms because if they are the muscly type of gay they might smack the crap out of me. Or worse bum me. Or worse still I might enjoy being bummed
I've grown up using these terms when amongst my mates though but am trying my best to stop
