Acceleration,I think you might be right mate ,but top end the V12 with it's 515 bhp is suppose to be good for 202 mph . Yes it was bought for me as a gift for Xmas ,and I have it from 10.00 till 20.00 for one day only. I believe they cost £174,000 when they were new , so I intend to enjoy.

Going back to the top mount issue, the problem with the STD tmic is the design does not allow all of the intercooler to be cooled when air is going in the scoop. My 99 uk car was running 316 bhp and after a real good high speed run ,the front part of the intercooler was red hot.
My current 2000 uk turbo is at 330 bhp and has increased by 6 bhp since the initial remap by adding a zero sports splitter which allows more air into the intercooler and reduces the intake temps , and as said by quite a few people the STD classic top mount is good for 350 bhp , with the newage sti unit good for over 400 bhp.

 

hi every1, ive owned a couple of import wrx's, my first a my95 with pipercross filter and scoobysport exhaust (boost set at 16psi) 215/45/17's and now a my94 wrx sa wagon also with pipercross filter but with haywood and scott straight thru downpipe and centre with sti rear can (boost set 18psi) also with 215/45/17's. the first 1 i had went 156mph (approx 6800rpm) confirmed by side by side driving against a (then) new evofq400 on a private test track . was just off the clock in mine! (160mph)....by the way i blew that engine 1 day doing 140mph 5up my 94 wagon, (with 3ca v1 sti box as standard) also would reach these speeds give or take a few mph. i havent been top speed yet but have seen 140mph easy with loads 2 go and the speedo is reading slightly under this time compared with satnavs and drivin thru speed camera at 33mph with 30mph showing on the clock. im not saying all wrx imports do this..........but i know of at least 2 that can!
