Default American WHP + silly claims

Guys,

Is it just me in thinking that their claims are very off? Or are they actually making silly amounts of power?

Example here is a VF30 which they claim is making 323 WHP, which works out at well over 380bhp at the fly. The car supposedly made 230whp pre exhaust + remap, so they're claiming nearly 100WHP from exhaust and map we don't even get that from the flywheel!

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2115337

What do you guys make of it? I have said I believe that is the flywheel figure based on the turbo and mods and results the rest of the world gets, and their simple response is quarter mile speeds and our tuners suck.

Opinions?

I reckon some claim that flywheel derived bhp is wheel bhp; would certainly explain the above!

Come on this measured with Dyno Software not proper Dyno like Dyno Dynamics,Dastek etc.
From VF30 323WHP is probably wet dream,like 380BHP from VF35 IMHO.

The thing annoying me is that the software just says "HP" not WHP. They're deluded I tell you!

Its a load of bollacks or B.S in american

That would equate to around 420 bhp at the flywheel wouldn't it?

This guy will be happy on dyno 260WHP,323WHP is probably very optimistic(unreal and just as i'm say above just in wet dream).
These guys don't understand SW measurement is not proper Dyno.

Not on funny juice over there too.

When I posted up my power results they almost mocked me. Yet cars producing less or more or less the same they thrived on.

Weird.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Regarding quarter miles etc, isn't there quarter miles a bit shorter than ours?

No idea. I really don't get how they think a car making 280BHP at the fly can make 323WHP with an exhaust and remap.

I swear their dynos actually read the flywheel in some cases and they just say it's WHP.

That's exactly what I think too.

It just doesn't add up otherwise.

Yeah, the bhp unit size difference, doesn't account for the U.S.'s inflated WHP claims.
