And, as for Flash.......
Keeping malware/viruses/buggy software out = good
Censorship = bad.
As for the Browser being the place for Applications, you are so far off the mark you may as well be on a different planet. Look at what Apple has done to the Mobile market, have you not noticed the incredible revenue generated selling apps in the Marketplace, Android, iOS and WP7? All that good stuff is now heading to the desktop.

What Apple are doing is not new anyway, anyone who has ever used Linux knows that, Ubuntu's apt-get for instance.

Well, strangely enough, as some Apple products have become mainstream, they are worth hacking now, and guess what? They have been.
Secure my ****, niche is what protected them.

Ah not quite. Steady on there laddy. It is not the store itself just the apps.
And remember Apple have never been exempt from hacking as proven several times over. It is the level of available exploits, virus, malware that you speak of and in those terms, they are way behind the curve.

Six years - you don't need to spend £200 to get something that will last 6 years. Have 3 Dell m520s in my company, bought new in 2003 - all still going strong and in use every day.
Not having a dig, just incredulous tbh

Charging for ringtones, WTF.
No bluetooth cos it means we loose mp3 revenue, we dont want people having free access to music they have already paid for, we want to charge you twice!
Have to use itunes to get data to and from the phone is bollocks, itunes is badly coded for windows on purpose, why cant we just see it as a new drive letter?
jailbreak and you can do all of the above easily, windows will label my 32gb iphone 4 as a drive and i can drag and drop onto it, my bluetooth works properly and i can make my own ringtones without paying a quid for each one!
Iphone are nice products, apples business model is for ******* with more money than sense!

Loads of terrible arguments against Apple, misconception galore.
Your negativity just makes me feel rightfully smug. You crack on keeping your beloved Microsoft products running, I'll crack on using great products.

I hope Microsoft do great things Jura, and I'll applaud them. No hatred here. I make a living from Microsoft and Ubuntu and do so from my MacBook. Which runs Win 7 when it has to.

It is what Apple have just started doing, but AppGet is free, has more content and is better, but what do you think of it?

I'd never heard of it, but a quick search and read shows it's incomplete and as buggy as sin. Can you get Angry Birds? Do they take all major credit cards?

Link me what you have read. imo it is all sorted and works fine, it has been non beta for two years, so you would think so.
Yes, but I have no idea why is it relevant, Rovio media are, for some reason, bringing Angry Birds to Linux.
Take credit cards? Linux dev ‘App store’ has been capable of supporting paid applications for months now.
You have to be more objective about technology Jack, I/you/anyone owe them nothing.

I think it should stay here, it concerns every user of Scoobynet. Whether you know it or not it will change the way you purchase software, that includes you Windows users as well.
How is it not a revolution? Never before have desktop computer users been offered this service, no more virus infected, toolbar installing, unsupported, dodgy website uncertainty when it comes to using software on your computer.

Don't believe me, well time will tell, as you're probably aware I haven't been proved wrong yet and I'm not wrong now.

I must admit, when i first read this i thought "is this not just the android market for a desktop?"
Then i thought "hold on a min, doesn't my Ubuntu running laptop have some kind of app store on it?"
