Every performance car and I don't class an Impreza as a performance car, I've seen drives like miss daisy .. I have never once seen a really powerful car, going quickly ..

I have no symapthy for bikers, (pedal and road) cos 99 percent of them think they can ignore the rules of the road and ride like *****!
See, you make a judgement about me (and other bikers) without knowing anything about me! For the record, I tend not to filter-much to the frustration of my hubby and the other bikers we ride with. This is twofold-firstly, I am a new biker and am not quite confident enough to filter all of the time. Secondly, being a female of only 5'5", I find most bikes quite heavy. If something were to happen when I filter, that caused me to have to stop suddenly and come off or drop the bike, I cannot lift my bike on my own.

Within a month of me passing my test, I was hit from behind whilst waiting to pull out on a roundabout, by a woman who hadn't even seen me! I had not been filtering and was in a 'normal' position in the road on my bike.

When we are training for the test, we are taught that as a motorcyclist, you should try to make progress whenever you can-by filtering whenever possible. Motorcyclists are trained to a higher standard in terms of the test now, simply because we also need to be taught things like the "swerve test" to avoid collisions.

I can honestly say that learning to ride a motorbike has made me a better driver.

Don't be ignorant and tar us all with the same brush because admittedly, like in any sphere, there are idiots who ride that are simply dangerous. We aren't all like that!

I really hope all of the anti-bike posts on this thread are a poor attempt at winding people up, otherwise its very scary that people with such low intelligence can actually pass their tests to be let loose on the roads

I can assure you there are far far more ***** on the road on 4 wheels who will actually attempt to block a filtering bike by swerving in it's path, and i can assure you a gixxer will not hold you up at the lights. (it's called filtering and not queue jumping because it's a road and not a fking post office)

Are you saying that every time you pull away from the lights you treat it as the start of a rally stage

Thanks, ya ma loves me too .. but no, I pull away quickly, which catches the bikers off guard .. Due to the high spool I tend not to hit my turbo, so I don't thrash it ...

That doesnt make you special my Ma loves everyone, sometimes two at a time

Why would a biker filter to the front of traffic and then pull away slowly to be a sandwich filling between two massive chunks of steel ? I have never seen a bike pull away and hold up the traffic on either side, even if one of the car drivers hates the fact he cant filter so races off like a lunatic

Gutted .. that's my plans ruined for tonight ...

I don't know.. I like bikes, I like the power .. I have no issues with being overtaken and hopefully do all I can (as much as I know how) to make life simple and safe for them .. I had a 125 for about a year and I was scared for my life each day .. I'm not about to get stroppy with a biker because they want to go passed, as someone who drives quick, I totally understand ...

Just go fast then ffs

I both drive and ride, and some of the views being espoused on here quite frankly scare me

I really do fail to understand why people feel the need to be so downright obnoxious whenever they get behind the wheel

As a rider I've never lt the need to sit revving the bike at lights, I prefer to take the opportunity to have a sit up and take the weight off

I have though encountered riders of that type, usually on sportsbikes (often Ducatis) and tend to just roll my eyes

PS: Yes I do filter in heavy traffic, I do try to be courteous, and I've never knowingly held anyone up when the lights change

Not old days, the A23 into to London is still the same when I was doing it last year riding in, drag race from the lights and see who gets the line, I always found I did it better on my moped than the ZX10???????, sometimes we go mono out side FWR!!!!!

I am so glad I don't have to do central London everyday now............well I do but by rail and I get to drive woooooo whooooooo.

The whole revving thing normally relates to 16 year olds on mopeds. They have no clutch or gears so they have to play with something!! lol

On the other hand, my VFR has quite a loud exhaust. When filtering though traffic, the odd little rev (while still rolling) makes people more aware that you are there

My opinion is tainted cos my parents live almost on the cat and fiddle, plenty of ******* riding bikes round here, all with a death wish.

Ive got out of my car and legged it after some **** on a 'busa that thought he could be a **** on the silk road and badly cut me up, he was gone on the silky but i guessed where he was headed and soon caught him in the twisties, he then got off at the pub and started actinh hard, then i got out and he **** himself!

Its like my view on horses, tainted by the selfish middle class ***** who think the road is exclusively for them and woe betide anyone who dares use their road.

Living in the countrty surrounded by those two types of fcukwits really makes me hate the sound of a bike cos i know it will be some **** wanting to race the scoob, or the sight of another rich kid ona horse too big for them being followed by mummy on fcking masssive horse gesturing and shouting at all and sundry to slow down when they are doing 30 in a 50 just cos her precious baby is riding her new horse, GET THE **** OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A FIELD.

BIKERS GET ON A TRACK AND DONT WEAVE IN AND OUT ON DUAL CARRIAGE WAYS AND WAIT YOUR TURN IN QUEUES ( or i will accidentally open my door to pick up my dropped cigarette just when you ride past to the front of the queue) not really

You are the type of road user I would intentionally **** of like that busa did.

For horses I slow down, turn the music down and would coast past a horse as not to spook them.

I am a firm believer of treating others how expected to treated.

It was originally "an idiot biker" - I changed it and added stereotypical.

Looks to me like a fair bit of the old "green eyes" on this thread largely becuase of the outstanding performance of a half decent bike and also the abilty to filter through traffic which is very easy to do without causing any problems.

There will always be the "harum scarum" types on bikes, just as we see with high performance cars. That is down to the individual but does not entitle all bikers to be tarred with the same brush!

Only watched to 22 seconds and already ding ding ding we have a winner. Vectra on the white line. No reason to be there, can't go further, can't see more but by god he wants to block some traffic.

5t.

oh and for those who haven't seen it. You can filter in a car so there.
