Nice work Definitely worth the effort for No.1. Just shows the damage that our weather and salty roads do to them and the reason my '93 doesnt do winter.

I can't believe 001 was left to get in such a bad state and I'm shocked at how rusty it had become I thought my old classic I broke was bad

Great to see it being restored and the paint job loos superb, you're very lucky owning 001 and the effort will be worthwhile.

Every car has a price though mate but i don't see many people with 8 grand waiting to take it off me
I waited long enough to get this car and being the co-owner of the owners club it only seems right i keep 001

I wish i had the money to make this car concourse but at the end of the day it will be used through the middle of the year as my day to day car

Yep, there will be a few horror stories lurking behind things like that. When I got my classic I took all the skirts and bumpers off for colour coding. The sills were OK, just a couple of bits to tidy up and then painted them before putting the skirts back on.

The worst was behind the front bumper as the support bar was a right mess. Replaced that (cheap from Subaru) and tidied up the back one properly so all set now I hope.

Have inspected the rear arches and they are A1 - all cleaned out behind and solid. Only place I am worried about now is round the front and rear screens so may take those out this year and sort them.

The car was parked up near Blackburn for over 3 years not covered apart from a big tree hanging over it

Yeah all common areas sadly. I think there are a lot of classic owners who if they uncovered a few things would be quite shocked,

Car looks great mate and is a credit to you. In a time when people seem to be breaking classics more and more it is great to see an older one rescued properly.
