Re quoting pics several time in the same page, I can't understand why people need to quote the same 5 (eg ;0) ) pictures that have just been posted above them, if you catch my drift!

Keep it coming guys, what about forum hierarchy, are you happy with it? any input into our commercial sections? Maybe sections that can be lost altogether. Let me know what YOU guys want and I will see what i can make happen.

Just want to float someone else's idea: Geek's section. Basically its a rename of the computing section to include more gadget orientated things that cross over into computing (consoles, phones, iProducts etc.).
Love the idea of a dyno/drag timessection - brings back memories of the old dynamite scoobies websites.

What about an overhaul of the Garage section?
Perhaps different classes for standardish cars and heavily modified cars? Or even classics and newages?
The same cars seem to populate the 'Top' section all the time; by this I mean why not have a time limit on how long they can stay there?
I'll give you an example of what cheeses me off, last night I voted for Shaun's JDM STi Hawkeye and gave it I believe a justified 5 star rating. I had a look earlier today and I checked the section again and another person gave it a 1 star rating.
I'd like to see the people who voted for a car and a cogent comment with perhaps a justification for their given rating. I mean Shaun's car is not a 1 star rating car, I know that one person's rating is subjective but let's see a reason/comment for the rating they have given.
Sorry for the longish post but this issue really winds me up, it might seem like a minor 'problem' to be potentially addressed and perhaps no one else is really too bothered by it but just some food for thought.

I have seen name and shame a few times, i dont post very often but i have an idea..
If someone creates a thread about a particular company/trader, people can give a positive vote and a negative vote against said company..
Company/trader will then end up with a positive/negative/equal score (much like ebay).
If the user has once voted upon trader with a negative, but has had some sort of resolution, he can change his/her vote if needed.
How does that sound?

I'd like for Christmas:
"Man Cave" section where we could all post about home related things such as home cinema, audio/video, collecting (whatever... e.g. ****, cars, ****, etc.) and general gadget related stuff. Obviously girlie's would be banned, unless they first post a mandatory topless chebbage shot of themselves holding a copy of the Daily Fail and a loaf of bread.
"The Muppet Room" to be deleted - what a white elephant that's become. Possible replaced with something to allow the SNet spazzers a place to post in... "Mongo-Corner" maybe?
Also, could we have a clear understanding of what broad direction it is that you're wishing to take Scoobynet in? I mean we'd all like a) increased traffic b) more sections c) better moderators - exc. Lisa d) greater freedom of speech e) entire site access for free f) no swear filter. But it's unlikely that this will happen so it'll be interesting to see what you're thinking.... before its too late
Thank you... DCI

Also (I'm off now ) you should run this like a professional service with the users (that's us) as your customers. At times it feels like we're here as guests rather than actual customers. That can be explained by the way some of the moderators speak (in posts) to some of the users on here, now I for one appreciate that in most situations the users are the ones acting in an out of order type way (been there myself) but if you're really trying to improve the site try tackling the most common complaints first, namely:
"I PM'd a moderator and heard nothing back" - there are enough moderators to deal with this, maybe a simple PM back acknowledging receipt of the query and then a follow up once sorted is all that's needed. Shouldn't be rocket science in this day and age. If your moderating team cannot support or handle this then either break them down into a "user support team" and "board moderation team" structure.
Thank you ... DCI

As a new ish person on here, i think the for sale section needs to be a lot better
Why not have a section classic, bug, blob etc then if you’re looking for something for your car you can just go to that page etc
and if selling a items picture are needed of items being sold (sorry but i wont buy a item unless I can see what is looks like condition wise etc)

Only Subaru owners (or potential owners) permitted to join.
For me, and I'm sure thousands of others, this is a special place where I can come and talk about any kind of issue related to my specific car, the Subaru Impreza. I am not interested in talking about any other car on this website.
If I own a Vauxhall, I will join a Vauxhall owners website, if I own a Ford, I will join a Ford owners website.

OK to more general points.
The for sale section IMO needs work. Split it into sections for classic, bugeye, blobeye etc. and a general section. Enforce correct posting in these sections.
The iTrader system is a good start, but I think needs to be improved to have different weghts for regualar traders/advertisers and occasionals like me. It also neds to be more in your face/easier to access.
NSR - think the scope for threads in here is too wide rigth now. For instance F1 threads pop up in there all the time as do Apple geek threads where these should really be in Sport and Computers... would like to see this enforced.
Garage rating system - needs some sort of moderation as ratings are clearly wrong in some cases... Shaun;s car being a good example.
Posting of multiple threads on the same subject e.g. the recent spate of Muslim threads - more action should be taken to prevent this.
Remove the Muppet Room - waste of space and past its sell by date.
And my biggest bug bear - the quoting system in the threads. If someone writes a post and someone replies quoting it when I quote their reply it only quotes their reply and not the orginal post as well which makes some threads hard to follow especially when the quote relates to much older replies and you have to go searching on previous pages for what it was about.

Unfeasible, unworkable and far too many parts are interchangable between the model years to make it a sensible thing to do.
Example, someone has a set on 2001-2004 Sti Brembo's for sale, by your reckoning they HAVE to post the thread either Bug/Blobeye section. Why, since they bolt straight onto a classic?
6 speed box, same again - bolt's straight onto a classic.
Totally impractical to split the For Sale section like that, just going off those two points.
An NSR for sale section would be an idea worth looking into though.

Ive never been in 'other marques' during my 7 years of being on Scoobynet! The issue is that lately, there have been numerous threads, in General, which have no connection to Subaru's, which I don't agree with. Just my opinion.

Yes, I have made several aquaintances on here, including a superb mechanic; My point was that recently I have seen many people join this site purely to slate Imprezas, judging by their threads. I would rather not have these people on this site. I am of course aware that we cannot 'censor' these people!

i agree with many others on here about the name and shame of companies or tuners, who have ripped there customers off.its seems that whenever someone posts something positive about a said company, then its all good and dandy.but if someone has had a genuine bad experiance from somewere then it almost always gets locked or deleted.i suppose it is hard to monitor as some people will complain about anything, but if someone has been genuinely taken for a ride then it should be made public.

You need to deter posts of a racist nature as the site seems to be tarnished with a number of people putting up posts that are offensive to people of ethnic minority and different religions. There is no place for this and it is highly offensive. Since when did this forum become a place for people to display their bigoted characters.
I have not seen any moderation when these posts are made and they are not even hidden, as their titles make clear what the content is about. I used to belong to 2 BMW forums in the past and this type of behaviour never occurred.
