Worth it, but I SPECIFICALLY asked about BiXenon projectors for main AND dip and got quoted the prices I gave you.

Not TOO bad, but would have been better had Mr Brown not got involved.

I'd certainly be interested in a group buy for these.

Anyway, I got some good prices based on 10+ purchases. 205USd shipped. Thats 130 quid. Yeah there will be some customs, maybe 20 quid. But thats a full HID projector setup for 150 quid.

Think its worth setting up a group buy?
I would be interested

Me too, but we need to be careful guys, I don't understand wherte this H1 terminology has come from.
What a classic needs is PROJECTORS that can run BIXENON, plus D2S bulbs, ballasts, shrouds if you want them, and most will want/need a wiring loom for plug and play. (Although if these are as plug and play as those sold on here by a well known trader, they won't be!)

If we DON'T get BIXENON, I can't see where main/dip will be achieved, so we need confirmation/explanation.

I asked about delivery to separate addresses, and he said that would be a different price the 205USD was to one address. So the shipping will have to be added. He did state he could make sure the customs charge would be very low, based on the shippings value.

AS for the H1, he has, maybe un-intentionally, skipped that question on whether it is a Bi-beam setup. But for me, I'm not bothered, the D2S is fine with me.
I'll get some more rock solid info from the guy and report back.

Joey, I'm up for this if you can confirm the price is for the Morimoto Minis in D2S format, NOT H1.
Price to me, shipped, was £214 that IS ££££ not $$$.

So $205 is a heck of a saving, can you get him to confirm? Also, I'm wanting mine before, say mid May, would that fit in with your timescale?

To recap, all that needs done with the Morimoto Minis is to split the lights, feed the projector into the lens unit using the adpator supplied, which also sets it level, screw on a lockring and rubber sealing washer from the rear, wire it up, reseal the headlights, and away you go.

That £214 ALSO included shrouds...........does your price?

But what about driving abroad?

Just to add: mine goes to France. I've emailed the Retrofit source to find out what to do about the dips when abroad. I've known Gendarmes stop you leaving the port, and ask you to SHOW them how your lights are adapted for LHD. If you can't it's €90 on the spot, please and do it now, or have the car imobilised.

I know that SOME lights were fitted with a lever which changed them from LHD to RHD and vice-versa, but can't see them, or any like them, on the site

Awaiting his reply now.

It was 205 USD, for a bulk box delivered, but now thats not on, so we'd have to pay shipping on that, which I was quoted when I originally asked:

Express Mail International: 3 - 5 business days: 40.80 USD
Priority Mail International: 6 - 10 business days: 33.82 USD

So, either 245.80USD or 238.82USD, in real money 173.25 or 168.33ish.

And to confirm, that was for the H4 Morimoto kit that includes:

* 2x D2S Morimoto Mini bi-xenon projectors w/ clear lenses (Low & High Beams)
* 2x HID ballasts (Morimoto, Denso, or Matsu****a)
* 1x Ballast test lead
* 2x D2S HID Lamps (Morimoto or Philips)
* 2x Shrouds/bezels of your choice
* 2x Projector Centric shroud spacers
* 2x metallic BIXENON bezel emblems
* 2x Alcohol prep pads for the HID bulbs
* 1x Plug n Play Bi-xenon Relay Harness
* 1x TheRetrofitSource.com decal
* 2-year worry free replacement warranty
* Personalized after-sale customer support and "how-to" PDF's are available upon request.

As for timeframe, looking to do this payday, or the next. The missus is about to give birth this week, so I'm looking to use my 2 weeks paternity to do some car related stuff, althought it might not happen do to lack of sleep.

And finally, for the LHD side of things. You get the option to order either, so I'm assuming its because they are different units altogether.

Wouldn't it work out cheaper if the box was delivered to you and we paid you P&P here in the UK?

I'm still waiting on a response to my "driving on the right" query.

It would, but what if I get hit with a massive customs charges a few weeks later? There might be a couple of honest people that'd pay there share, but it'll be an un-necessary hassle.

AIUI, the Morimotos sold by TRS originally had H1 format bulb only. The D2S version is a newer thing. The projectors themselves are bi-xenon capable, regardless of the bulb format/footprint.

Yeah, I see that, but it's my understanding that if you get hit by customs/delivery charges, you get it BEFORE the stuff is delivered?

Anyone buying through you understands that and pays up...........or doesn't get his stuff?

Anyways, your deal, your choice, me, I'm trying to save dosh........and NOT at your expense, hopefully

I always have got the customs charge a few weeks later. In fact, DHL are still after me for about 16 quid on these ebay ones.

OK, I'll believe you. I've only ever bought one thing from the US, it came with customs charges and extra for UK delivery...........what a scam.

Fair enough. It was DHL who delivered mine, they refused delivery until I paid.

Could be the ballasts. They are electronic, so could prduce some noise. Mine don't.

Mine sort of "fizz" on startup, but are silent in use and don't upset the radio.
