I hid the dremel before he got here. All in, some pics to follow and more tomorrow when it's daylight. No drama's just took my time (for a change) and followed Frayz guide - big up to Frayz for all his hard work in producing it

Also managed to fix Ricky's stereo in between bolting up bits of roof flap

So to start, cars a mess but hey-ho...

Stripped out the head-lining, removed the map light bracket...

And cleaned some of the bits that came out

In the margins I primed and painted the inside of the flap...

Then time to start in ernest...

measuring

first trial fit

No-one forecast rain

Then, there's a hole in my roof...

It's too dark for any more pics, but it is all in and fitted and I'll get some pics of the finished job tomorrow, other than to say I am very happy with the finish

Always willing to help, and I have some really good cutting discs for my 'dremel' tool - diamond cutters and didn't even get through one

We'll need to plan a full day as is suspect there'll be a few subtle differences between the classic and newage in terms of pulling the car apart, but the meat of the work should be the same

Plus, if I win the lottery and get my respray done sooner rather than later you can be detailing my car while I chop yours to bits

Finished 2 days of smoothing today - fingers are red raw, pics to follow.

Big up to Stu (scoobystu5779) who came and did some welding for me. He TIG'd the flange back on my Blitz centre so I'll refit that soon and did some other bits despite having some reservations about the thickness of subaru panels. The jobs were spot on with me knowing the risks and I just need to fill and smooth these in

Apologies for the poor pics

I looked at removing the aerial from the a-pillar too, but the threads sit proud and there's no lip to weld a plate on to so it became too complex
