Had the pleasure of a few laps beside Pete at Brands. Even at sub 6k and limited boost the car feels very strong indeed.

Had a little go in the captain's seat of this beautiful machine at the weekend. Thanks again Budgie!

Even taking it *very* easy with his new and expensive toy and shortshifting at 5.5-6k you could really feel the strength of the build and the potential it has! No whoosh of power yet, just a solid push in the back all the way through. Top set-up all round too, I'm in love

Well its now been 8 months since the rebuild and guess who is still over the moon with the results. I have been to Brands, Snetterton, Bedford and Cadwell Park so far with a December trip back to Brands coming up.
The car is performing better than ever and I now have the confidence in it to be able to push harder and faster.
I want to thank Richard at FBtuning for delivering exactly what I asked for and let you guys know how reliable his work is. Water temps are no longer an issue and oil pressure and temps are as expected. Also my oil consumption has reduced so much that Morris lubricants think I have sold up.
I now have my new project waiting to start and can guarantee that Richard will be the man for the job.

 

Does Jackie know that her car is up for a serious makeover

 

Good to hear that it performed well mate. That Richard does some good work and will be doing the upgrades on my car when I can afford them.

So here we are 2 years on and its been good
The car has covered 7500miles and done 12 track days including visits to Oulton Park, Cadwell, Snetterton, Bedford, Silverstone and Brands.
The car has not missed a beat in all this time which has made me and FBtuning very happy.
Now that I have the confidence in the cars ability I have been able to improve on my driving skills and get the car shifting along at a pretty good pace.
The only issue we have is due to the increased cornering speeds we are suffering a bit with the fuel, so feel its time to fit a swirl pot set up. While we are doing that we thought lets get the engine out and check the internals for any signs of damage and replace a few seals and gaskets.
So here come a few pics of how its coming on.

 

Sounds good to me Pete, I just need some free time to get mine moving along and then for some track fun, but clearly when Tina asks I was just watching

 

No wonder you're going faster, no brake calipers to slow you down!

Deffo going under bonnet swirl pot
Keeping the car as is till my driving skills catch up with it
May need to fit some bigger bo11ocks to myself

 

Under bonnet setup is nice as it keeps out noise and fuel vapour.

Deffo recommend a fire extinguisher though.

looking good , id paint the cooler again while the bumper is off , where you mounting the swirl pot setup ?

 

Not on the original plan but a new crank was required.
This was not because of failure but wear and tear concerns

 

May need to do something with this also
