How come they have the time off to protest, prehaps now they should be in uni actually learning...

Poor hard done by lickle wickle students...

What about the rest of us who took further education , but paid ourselves?

prhaps if the courses wernt strung out for so long with just a couple of

hours tuition per day, then they could keep the costs down?

Welcome to the real world...

Time to turn the water canon on the protesters. Nice cold day - game over.
but wouldn't you complain if the BBC did not report it?

but agree with the water cannon -- they probably could do with a good wash and scrub

Well said!
Sickening to see this apparent human beings stoning and beating the police horses. Worthless idiots.

Ice cold water canon, on maybe some media blasting would do the trick, clean the paint off the road at the same time.

I find it hard to sympathise with the students protesting. Its not like someone put a gun to their heads and forced them to go to uni.

On the radio last night they were having a discussion with a member of the student union and someone suggested maybe removing all the concessions students get, student bars, cheap travel etc, and her reaction was oh no, that would not be right!
No winning with some of them. It's fair to say most have good intentions but others are just lazy freeloaders who want everything on a plate.

None of the behaviour of the protesters is acceptable, certainly not throwing snooker ***** breaking down fences and vandalism. Scum!

I dread to think what is going to happen after the vote result at 5.30

People I saw being interviewed were in no way university material imo. Illiterate and inarticulate with no grasp of the arguments at all.

Graduates we recruit in the industry I work in from overseas are far better educated and much more intelligent. The majority of this rabble come across as just so many work shy scroungers who think the taxpayer owes them a living.

I'm left wondering how many of these students actually understand the costs and loans structure being proposed. And how many are just on the bandwagon.

Student activism for the sake of activism in most cases with very few of the interviewees presenting constructive submissions. Any way, the result will be out in a minute so they can walk round with their 'V' masks on trying to look anti-establishment and menacing. Ban the bomb!

I agree with that somewhat but lots of the people being interviewed seemed like 16 to 18, you can hardly expect them to be able to make arguments like 25 y/o post-grads.

I also work overseas and come across many foreign grads. Many are formidably technically educated, but IMHO they tend to lack a 'roundness' to their education, lack of cultural, arts etc, know nothing about history, in short unable to really think.

Lots of the Protesters are types I generally turn my nose up at too, and I especially loath the leftist entryist types.

OTOH this isn't about students as such but the general austerity/cuts. It's good we are having protest about it like in Europe. It keeps the government/establishment honest and less taking the people for granted.

Agree completely; I just find the empty lefty posturing cringeworthy.

This is gonna turn really nasty now, any one of those on the front line of the violence now deserves every strike of a baton they receive.

Pathetic mindless violence.

And meanwhile,I've just watched an article on how our marines are in Scotland clearing the snow "to give something back after the support we received while we were fighting in Afganistan".
Made me chuckle

Thumbs down Students .....

.......... the most useless and pathetic of all articles?

I think so!!

Hell, I've got pimples on my 4rse older than the idiots rioting on the streets - I've a good mind to go down there and slap some faces .........

They contribute NOTHING

They add NOTHING

They matter NOT!!

Education should be paid for by those who benefit from it ........ let's take an example shall we? Why should we pay for a Dentist to be educated just to stitch us up and rip us off down the line? It's a disgrace and it needs addressing - squeeze until the pips pop!!!

No flim-flam, straight answer please, so we can see you for the hypocrite you are

At the end of the day, it is one hell of a hike.
The fact that students in Wales get subsidised and Scotland doesn't pay anything (I think) yet our kids have to pay all that is a tad unfair.
England seems to get shafted for everything.

(You need some cream for those pimples )

Has it???? Yeah just great if you like thinly disguised bigotry and borderline racism I guess. Give me Pete over the recent contributors any day, at least the guy has a sense of humour.
