It's more the texture of the work bench it's on that I like. Kind of wish i'd id actually though about it and moved the flywheel out of the way in the background!

Interestingly, I seem to have created a small issue with the car that's leaving me scratching the old noodle.

The car now seems to have a sound not dissimilar to air seeping out of something. It's coming from the passenger side somewhere towards the front. Boost seems to be holding fine, and it's only present when moving (no difference made on coasting, or under load). Not there when idling, or reving while at a standstill.

Had a nosey under the bonnet and can't see anything loose or that has come off.

It's possible it's only started after a 5K launch last night. Ahem.

Anyone got any thoughts at all as to what it could be?

Someone else has mentioned that. Will check it out when I get home.

No doubt it'll be something expensive that needs fixing!

Right, i'm not wildly knowledgable about brakes, but should the pads be touching the discs? They might just be bloody close, but the side where the noise is coming from seems to be touching?

Here's a bad pic to show what i mean:

Also, anyone know the best way to fit extinguisher / battery cut off pull cables to the scuttle area? Does it need the bonnet taking off?

Here's what I have, and where I want to fit it:

Wow. Terrible brake pic. Will get one where you can actually see the brake pad tomorrow in natural light. Damn iPhone!

The noise is the pads brushing past the grooves in the discs.

It sounds like Blue Thunder in Whisper Mode

(or was it airwolf ?)

Ok, i've now managed to fit the interior pull handle for the extinguisher, but still scratching my noodle on fitting the exterior handles.

Am I right in thinking N/S scuttle panel is the best place for them? Looking under the plastic scuttle, there seems to be some metal bracing under the metal, which not only looks like a pig to drill, but will be a nightmare doing up the retaining nut on the pull handle.

Anyone got any suggestions??

Help!

Why not get a bracket welded on?
or
bring it out through the side indicator so your drilling anymore holes apart from the lens? Custom blinker abit like the Honda boys do with there rear lights?

The side doesn't seem ideal from a purely unprotected way.

Are there any rules on where they should be etc?

The skuttle is ideal James - you can brace it with a small bracket to the front of the skuttle metal surround. AFAIK there are no definite rules but most seem to be there

Small update, but the car's back at the body shop getting some new paint

Re-painting the roof as the black had chipped a bit somehow, sorting the bumper as the previous work done before I bought it was a bit shocking, and a couple of teeny patches of rust.

Can't wait to get it back, it's going to look awesome!

Pics this weekend when I pick it up
