Whatever you do, buy nothing by Superdry. Going totally against my philosophy of never buying brands, we recently bought our twelve-year-old lad a coat because he'd set his heart on one and it was his birthday wish. First couple of days, the elasticated drawstring in the neck area pulled out. It appeared to be tacked to a tiny piece of cloth inside the jacket instead of being securely attached. Got it replaced, only for it to happen again. Got it replaced, had it a couple of months only for the same thing to happen again twice in the bottom hem of the jacket. They are a pile of SH1TE.
and dont keep you dry at all

Don't care about the image of North Face - my 6 year old Nuptse kept me toasty warm at the rugby today when it was -3c.
I can hardly be described as a Chaver!

You often see the same people who wear North Face clothing as an indication of being the cool outdoorsy type are the same fools that wear flip flops during the summer as if they've just stepped off the beach.
I've got a SuperDry jacket. Bought it last year and its been fine but is only fashion and not proper outdoors clothing.

I'm lower than that; I have an Impreza
Actually it's virtually impossible to buy stuff from Outdoor shops with no branding, most if not all has a logo somewhere on the front. Normal clothes I couldn't give a crap if it's branded or not but for walking I need something decent and TNF is within my price range. I might be a chav but I'll be a warm and dry one

Regatta stuff is uncool but will do the job all the same. Berghaus would be my choice for proper outdoors stuff.

See I don't rate Regatta at all, you might as well wear a bin-bag.
Berghaus I do like
(don't own any flip-flops, branded or unbranded)

My missus has a Nuptse and a McMurdough(sp) Sound Jacket from North face.
She swears by them after trying various other brands...
Oh...We are lower working class at best...

North face stuff is pretty good. Just bought a pull over jacket and big winter coat from there new range.
The `Rab` stuff is even better, and will keep you warm better than any other. `Rab` coats & jackets are very expensive though.

Any of the brands you find in places like millets or blacks will do the job required by the average person. Its funny watching people trying on a £250 jacket like they are getting ready for a polar mission when in reality they will be lucky to encounter more than a small walk to the pub or local shop.

I`ve got a Berghaus Mera Peak. £350 new (many years ago and I didn`t pay that much). Waterproof, windproof and very breathable. Awesome coat...but I also have a D2B coat too (made by Regatta), reduced from £85 to £35 a couple of years ago and it`s just as good

I've got a North Face coat and its does the job well. I bought mine after going to New York in December and seeing al the New Yorkers wearing them, I figured they must keep you warm.... and they do.

North Face is pretty decent stuff TBH, it's how you wear it that best describes you as being chav though, wearing a big North Face jacket with a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top has chav written all over it.
