The problem is that Ugg is a brand name, the word Ugg is used to describe the style of boot, so anyone can start a company called Ugg [insert random word] Australia.
This is the reason they find it so hard to control the fakes.

Don't think they are genuine Ugg Australia boots either. They are Ugg Snug Australia.

Well I refuse to pay over £200 for a pair of glorified slippers, which is effectively, what they are. I am not an expert on fashion and have never claimed to be.
As said, mrs provided website link and I just clicked 'buy'.
I'm sure, those of you who paid the full asking price for genuine items are feeling very smug right now. Good for you, you have been ripped off by the genuine company!
£250 for comfy boots that you can't get wet? Do me a favour.

They are not intended as outdoor shoes, yet someone at somepoint decided they thought going out in your slippers was cool, so everyone followed suit.
I am guilty if owning a pair, but bought them in a winter sale. I will also admit that they have been in my feet twice. Waste of money.

I bought a pair of genuine ones and they are fantastic, very adaptable if you wear them correctly. I do not wear socks with them, you're not supposed to and they do not make your feet sweat because they are made of a natural material. They were originally designed as surfer's boots.
I love mine and don't care what anyone says about them to be honest. The fake ones are giving the original ones a bad name. They collapse because they don't support the feet correctly, whereas proper UGGS do. They're ultra comfy and are hardwearing. They're not designed to be worn for the snow, I have snow boots for that purpose. It's all about common sense, which when it comes to fashion, usually goes out of the window!

So theyre not designed to get wet ( yet theyre a surfers shoe), theyre near as dammit flat bottom ( yet they support your foot , posture ) theyre, presumably, straight wool with no wicking and a foot high - yet theres no danger of sweating , and they cost 200 quid when something equivalent would reasoanably cost 70 , yet theyre not a fashion accessory for 14 year olds to wear in the mall

Do they still give a free pair of jeggings with every pair of Uggs ? Everyone on the Leeds council estates seems to have had this offer

Get a pair from Tesco for a fiver. They are made in the same factory with the same materials at the same cost... about a quid, or alternatively, buy something that doesn't have a big sucker or cheapskate sucker label on them

I'm loving this thread Nike sell trainers for £150 yet they cost almost nothing to make out in the Third World ... things are worth what people are prepared to pay so £250 for Uggs it is!
