Simon, do you know roughly how many extra kgs the flat-6 weighs compared to the flat-4?

I suppose you'll run around with DCCD fully open virtually all the time, to counteract the relative front-heaviness (esp. on track)?

not weighed it, but if you look closely you might see a little weight saving at the front of the car

Did you compare the weight to the framework that went back in though? The OE front chassis leg extensions are prety lightweight after they pass the crossmember as they are designed as a crumple zone.

Maybe I did, maybe I didnt

The front cross member and towing eyes arent light.

Tube put back in is chromoly.

It was possible to lift the front of the car after but dont believe it was before but then the bar front is also easier to grip so not really a fair example.

Shouldnt be a major issue to dial out the additional front weight with chassis setup anyway

You been buying some chassis set up books lol! It only took Porsche about 30 years to get it semi sorted!
I cut the front out my last car as you know and weighed it against the supports I put back in. With this car didn't bother with such a drastic chop, read into that what you will!

Nothing I am aware of in mot that says so. 30cm away from structural points are intact or enforced by the work carried out.

Anything structural at the front has been replaced with as strong.

No less legal than most racecar or rally cars running in road legal classes etc.

It will be used on the road.

Just thinking - with the cutaway inner wings and the twin turbos you'll have natural tyre warmers Nice bit of Adrian Newey thinking

Great project

Various other things done today, massive thanks to CJ for helping out again.

lots of little bits done, the bits that take all the time, but main things being pump and filter at rear of car lowered to level of tank outlet to ensure the pump cannot cavitate, catch tank fitted, vf22 fitted to drivers side just to mock up and check a few bits..

waiting on a massive order of stuff I just placed now.
