Excellent deal H, from experience on Saturday, depending on the length of the ariel you'll need a 7" mag base, i tried a smaller one but it tried to remove itself from the boot over 100mph, (i was on a private road
).
).

I know it says 'pre-tuned' on the website, that does not mean they are 'good to go' to plug straight in your radio and start using. It means they've all been manufactured to a specific standard and are all the same. You still need to use an SWR meter to tune each aerial/radio combo to prevent damage (and by damage I don't mean 'it'll go a bit fuzzy' I mean 'it'll fry the internals and turn it into an expensive paper-weight').
I'm not trying to have a moan here, just trying to stop you potentially wrecking £80 worth of gear for the sake of a £10 meter (£1 each if you group buy it).

Just to update you folks, I have spoke to tech support at thunderpole. The aerials we have ARE pretuned and tested at factory.
However if we have a SWR meter (which we have) then theres no harm in checking.
We should be aiming to get a reading below 2.
If we can get a reading of 1.5 then thats perfect.
Tech support state there is nothing major to worry about, if the signal is crap then SWR is out but as above they are pre tuned at factory.
We will double check them with the SWR on sunday
