So you had the chance to buy ANY car and the 'car of your dreams' turned out to be a Diesel Civic? Maybe it's time for you to move on from a Subaru enthusiast forum!

What are the performance stats on the new STI? People seem to be overlooking that too. What other cars are out there with these stats but at far lower prices?

I've still not seen the new model in the metal, I might do on Friday though when I pick up my Hawk STI

Subarus are not the car they used to be, they have moved on with the times and are now more like a family car, which 99% of people dont want with all the fancy luxuries, they would rather have a solid engine and performance and a few rattles here and there.

Anyway happy motoring, hope it hold together for you..
Hi,
Yes, I agree. We don't buy car every day round. After spending a good amount on them if we won't get the service or comfort then what is the use.
Comfort is the most important aspect however, the working and the mileage is also important factor. Buddy getting a car of your choice is biggest than all..... Happy driving

A couple of posters on here appear to know of diesel models that can 'show a clean pair of heels' to Imprezas yet return 55 mpg and qualify for £100 road tax. Can we name names because I definitely want one. Thanks in advance.

Hi again,

Yes comfort is one of the most important factor. I have seen people going for diesel to save a bit however then they regret. May be m thinking quite different... m just learning to know more on cars and technical stuffs. As I travel a lot.

Funnily enough, I don't think one of these would http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/h.../summary/59514

An ugly looking, boring old farts car to boot.

If I was going to buy a Civic I know which one I'd have.

Ok Ive got her, pictures incoming when i actually finish some work.

First Impression IDRIVE weird thing unsure of differances yet apary from limiter at 5.5 in I mode

Anybody care to share what it actually does under the hood ?

Stereo very good.
Bluetooth so far works BUT when i turn car off and back on doesnt automatically connect to Phone maybe a setting not read book yet.

Seats comfy as
Ride Bumpyish due to Spec C i guess

Power very nice, Large uppercut more than my WRX-S but for all your WRX-S drivers its not a massive differance, but a nice one.

Handling on Rails

Drove back from Rochdale and had a Taxi driver kept overtaking i pulled into heartshead moor and so did he, him and m8 got out and wanted a look and to sit in it, Thought i was gonna get robbed LOL.

Nice burning smell from new feel, no comments about burning being Pistons LOL.

WTF is my mute button on steering wheel i miss that

Gonna read Manual now, and i,ll go take some picis, scuse the dustbins its on my back street

Firstly - congratulation on your purchase!

Indeed - read the manual, but that Bluetooth issue with be an autoconnect function
My 330S headunit is the navigation unit, so it'll be different again to yours.
No mute button
Thats one of the way how I hang up calls in mine, never mind stereo function
I-Drive

IMode Limited at 5.5 - **** me, please tell me you haven't been hitting that sort of rev range immediately.

I leave mine in sport and usually switch to S# once its warmed up.

Seats are good too - just watch the side bolsters as you enter/exit, because it seems they might be prone to wearing badly
Mine are fine, but I've only stuck around 4K miles on the car since purchase.

Only hit it once, i wont till ive done 500

Ok question then, as its now Push button start is there a way u can get semi ignition without having the engine running ?

Like normall youd turn the key 2 notuches to switch on stereo etc, how you do it with a button ?

Ive just spoken to Adrian at Im group for the USB to work with the Iphone it has to version 3.1 :/ taking into mind 90% of the world now have to use 4.0 .

Ive asked him to log it as an upgrade to firmware.

i, s & s#

i mode, dampend throttle response, less boost (0-0.5bar on my gauges)
s mode, sharper throttle response with 75% the available boost (but jumps to 100% on full throttle)
s# sharpest throttle response (something like 50% more than i mode with same peddle movement).. maximum boost available on request.

to turn on the ignition, just press button twice with no clutch depressed.

to turn it off press once more.

As Shaun said, keep away from s# and keep the revs below 5k till at least 1k miles,

Colours lovely, still not a fan of the new saloon but as long as your happy good for you. Take it easy with the running in as well

A couple of things I think would improve it:

Remove badges from the back leaving just the STi and the Subaru Logo.
Colour Code the silver strip
The wheels are really nice but it's almost looks like it needs 19" because of the size of the arches.

Future stuff:
New back boxes, maybe 2 ovals or quads that reach the edge of the rear bumper.

One thing I noticed is that your STi badge looks squint (might just be the photo though).

I remember what I was like when I got my MY07 STi, hadn't even got the damn thing home and there was already bits waiting in the garage for it.

These cars are so addictive for modifying

Nice, subdued looking car ...... good without a boot spoiler - only chavs want big spoilers these days - keep it simple, keep it clear of chav clutter, keep it below 3k until 1,000miles have appeared!

Good luck

But, £33,000 .... good job you're not buying it with your own money!

Nice car mate, you must be well chuffed!

Just make sure you stay away from those terrifyingly fast Civic diesels - I hear from a certain expert that they'll leave any Scooby for dead...

Axel i needed to do it now m8 or id loose too much on my WRX-S, plus im sure next year they aint dropping the new engine into anything fast just legacy etc, maybe year after and i cant wait that long.

1 thing i had to ask though is the new 2011 is

EU V compliant, this differs i think from the 2008 or does it ?

Ne1 care to comment on its its diff ? or whats been done to change it.
