"Exactly, we take it on the chin and accept flaws with what we have"

Take what on the chin exactly? As I see it, you and other's make a sport out of slagging off Apple products, I might take a dig at the crappy keyboard on Blackberry's and disparate nature of the Android operating system, but I don't keep digging and scratching in the "yeah but, no but" manner that you do.

Oh and what was Task 3? Perhaps that one was worth trying.

8:45 here and I'd say your post having no relevant content was far more troll like.

i'm glad steve jobs is mad about the user experience and the minimalist design - we all benefit i think.
Good for you, we don't all want to conform to the same simple and boring user interface. BTW, i'm typing this from my mac as i admit the simple interface of OSX is better for my work.

I wouldn't use it for anything else though as its too slow. Id rather spend less money building and overclocking a pc which a mac will never be as fast as.

My point is, is that i can use all different kinds of products and see the benefits/flaws and not just be a simple minded apple/linux(android)/microsoft fanboy.

I'm not adverse to building custom PCs... but I'd still install OSX on them

Don't you think we've all been through the same mill and come up with our own realizations/opinions too?

i've tested windows and osx on precisely the same hardware and windows is slower. visibly. it gauls me that on the desktop with virtually nothing in the start up, vista and 7 uses up at least 1gb of ram. osx is equally ready to go with apps and idles with 250mb. linux even less!

if i didn't use photoshop, then linux would be a factor (try not to mention GIMP because it's rubbish).

Also, I love great design. if it functions how i think it should, then why can't it look good (to me)? Otherwise we'd all be wearing casio watches.

on an Apple - can you go right click - open new window in a http link

also can you resize windows easily

genuine question btw - I always find trying those two simple functions quite hard (it is prob me)

also Itunes seems to need Admin privileges to install correctly

You won't ever see task 3.... he posted it but it was on a Vista PC and it asked him if he meant to post it, then for the admin password so it would post it, then if he meant to ask for the admin password and then for the password to enter the password on the screen before, then told him it wasn't a password dialogue container digitally signed by Microsoft and then asked for permsision to display the dialogue asking if it was ok to continue, but this opened behind the other windows and by the time he found it and said OK and entered the password the post had timed out anyway.

Right Click - Open Link in a New Window, Open Link in a New Tab. Download Linked File, Download Linked File As. Copy Link.

If it's not a link just a URL you have the option to open URL.

This is using Safari and yes I'm back on my Macbook!

Task 3 is moot really

Jack cant deliver 1 point, and potentially 2,

so why would he risk a third.

(and it was a typo lol)

So Mart - have you managed to fix your iPhone yet as you seem to be the only one that can't run the Sky Videos with the Sky News App?

Mart doesn't have an iPhone. As mentioned before he's just bored, trying to be clever.

Back to the open/closed discussion.

I was one of the first people to have an iPhone in the UK, I activated it on the first day a technique was found, Jailbroke it and unlocked it within hours of it being possible. No mean feat and super risky back then as it involved amongst other things typing commands directly into the modem, none of this slide to unlock malarky. I did all the customisation stuff, changed this and changed that, added games before games were available.

Then, when O2 released the official iPhone I got me one of those, and do you know what, I've never bothered with a Jailbreak, never seen a need, well apart from when I had a spare 3G knocking about and wanted to see how easy it had become, it bricked my phone for a bit!

Personally I don't have a need, and have never felt restricted. I can seen open being handy if you're adverse to paying for applications/music or want a **** looking set of icons.

For your info and as ive stated many times,

I have an ipod touch , which i like,

What i don't like is the restrictive OS & browser

And i see your doing your same old "I don't have a need", so why should anyone else, stance again Jack.

And who mentioned being averse to paying for apps, again your opinion Jack

Does anyone else find YouTube frustratingly slow on the iPad?

I loaded and watched the same video on the laptop and iPad at the same time, while the laptop streamed it beautifully, the iPad stopped started and stuttered all the way through. Same source, same connection, same time.

I thought the iPad would excel at such things. But once again the trusty windows laptop wiped the floor with it.

Still curious to know if anyone else has this issue with their ipads?

OK Mart,

Let's see a series of images from your phone in "burst mode". I'm curious.

You can pick the subject, lighting, etc. Maybe give candid upskirting a miss though, as this is largely a family site

I'm curious, to be honest, because having had a phone that would take multiple images over a few seconds previously, anything that moved was blurred and crap quality anyway, due to the restrictions of the sensor, the lens, the fixed aperture and the autofocus.

Over to you.

Here's what you're up against Mart. I don't have an iPhone 4 so can't test it out personally right now.

Hi Jack,

I'm flattered that you took the time to respond

however you seem to have missed one important point from post #54

What you linked was an app that costs $1.99

Which is my point, things normal phone users take for granted, you have to

pay extra for.

Mart, you don't expect your OS to have everything out of the box, so why expect your smart phone to have everything?!
