Still got my Tamiya TL01 & the Yokomo MR4TC + all the batteries, tools, oils, springs, tyres, tranys, crystals, ESCs, car battery, chargers and bodyshells.
Used to race 1/10 stock motor (reedey) Touring cars at the West London Racing Centre in Hillingdon - much fun, and those finals always used to make me nervous.
Always wanted a Traxxas T Max though.

I used to have a HPI Savage and it was a blast. Used to have great fun chasing peoples dogs around the local rugby pitch. Was bloody noisy tho and easy to roll at speed so those offroad buggies make better sense.

I'd seriously recommend the Hyper 7. You can get 2nd hand on Ebay for about £100 or brand new for about £250.
Loads of spares available really cheap from Ebay, so when you break something you can pretty much get it back up and running quickly and cheaply.
Loads of bang for your bucks!

I've never had one of the petrol type RC cars but have 5-6 battery ones ranging from 1/10 to 1/18 upstairs. More on show now than used but still get them out for a drunken race with mates up a down a local 10 foot now and again
Brings the power to weight ratio thing out when the little buggers with smaller motors beat their big brothers

Tamiya Avante
Tamiya Egress
Tamiya WIld One
Yokomo Dogfighter 93
Kyosho Optima Mid
I remember seeing an Avante new in a shop and they couldn't sell it for £180, now unbuilt in box they fetch well over £1000!

Big boys(and girls) toys are top fun
Here's one of mine sat on a driveway for scale

also got a multiplex funcub, 2 450 size helicopters,a 250 size heli,a few coax helis(used to learn on), a thunder tiger eb4 s2 1/8 scale rallycross buggy with on road and off road tyres and finally a pair of what used to be tamiya manta rays fitted with every upgrade I could find at the time that I am thinking of converting to brushless motors.
Oh yea also got about 150-200 scalextric cars which I'm due to sell on as my track in the loft is no more.
cheers richie

If its the latter and youve not flown a 6 channel heli before I'd seriously consider investing in a flight sim such as phoenix first and getting some insurance

The Apache is 4 channel again electrical.
Both apparently easy to fly for a beginner. Just abit of fun really. Will probably be up for sale in a months time but you gotta try these things.!
Sorry Les its shop bought and made of foam-has working retracts and flaps and is a lot more durable and easy to fix than the traditional balsa type.
It weighs just over a kilo and has an electric motor close to 1 hp
Fancy one of these next but Its going to be a few months yet due to the cost(note to self get a full time job not just ad hoc agency work) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FMS-WWII-Spitf...item4152d58a61

Hiya, I bough one of each was just showing the red colour with the other model for a mate. I bought blue.
The blue copter is a electrical one. You know when those first small metal framed helicoptors came out, well its just a bigger version! Its only 3 channel.

4 channel is a lot closer to real heli control than 3 btw
Be warned it can be an expensive hobby but Hong Kong suppliers do take the pain off it somewhat. Loads of nice toys and parts here http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_index.asp
