Hi Graeme,

Sorry to hear about what happened.

If it is any help, you can view the IP address of the guys wife's email to give you an idea of where abouts they are.

All you do is right click on the senders name or email title and select "view Source". You can then enter the numbers into an IP Search engine and it will show you roughly where it came from.

Any Problems just PM me

Hi Graeme,

Sorry mate, i thought you had a hotmail account.

Below is how to look at an IP address in Gmail

Open the mail.

To display the email headers, click on the inverted triangle beside Reply. Select Show Orginal.

Look for: Received from, followed by the IP address between square brackets [ ].

Example: Received: from [69.138.30.1] by web31804.mail.mud.yahoo.com

If you find more than one Received: from patterns, select the last one.

Give that a try mate

Andy

Mate I think that the guy is in California, certainly still in America.

The zip code (postcode) relates to an appartment building.

Damn, actually it doesnt, Yahoo Inc. is based there

I still think he is in America though, I'd have thought it would show if it came from another Countries server

This is a terrible situation

Considering what you've already lost, would it be worth going in for a penny, in for a pound, buy a cheap air ticket and hunt him down?
