Their 'share' is set by the legislative framework - everyone looks to optimise their tax within this (you never paid someone cash in hand for a job, never bought goods at duty free, never taken out an ISA?).

They do pay their share, they just don't pay more than they have to. If he's not done anything illegal, what are you moaning about?

Sometimes you make me smile Pete, but when you start banging on about politics you really do look a prize ****, and I actually feel sorry for you.

You shouldn't be so harsh - poor old Pete has been breast-fed (ie brainwashed) on the post WW2 socialism that created the welfare state.
It is not his fault that he lacks the critical faculty to look around and see how discredited the system is (even though he moans about its consequences ).
Or that the world will not be a better and more equal place by taking money from rich people and giving it at the poor.
I am not rich, but that is my own choice, because I am basically lazy.
That does not mean I think rich is a dirty word though, or that rich people should be made poor in order to make the envious feel better (let's face it - they never will).
Then again, I could be wrong on this one.
