Lol! Have you read The Grand Design yet? I finished it this morning on the red-eye from JFK; it was fairly trippy getting my head round the Strong Anthropic Principle, M-Theory and spontaneous creation whilst the missus snored and the kid behind whooped at The A-Team. Would be interested in your thoughts.

No, I haven't read it - I don't even know who it's by. I've heard of those ideas, though.

Haven't read the other 781 posts but just wonder...how many people try very hard to disprove God because of a rotton event in their life..loss of a loved one etc.Like to know why Dawkins is so keen to disprove!

My view is simply we just don't understand ,nor can we really explain so many things.Nothingness to galaxies appearing, the beginning of time, the extent of space.

No one has a clue, just pretend they do based on what a few blokes in white coats wrote in books. It's these theories that are as much up to knocking down as the bible.

Accept it...we can't prove or disprove anything...just live with it! (I believe in God btw)

If it wasn't for all the double posts it would only be on page 13....

Even 'God' can't sort that out.

You're completely wrong on almost every point, there. But I don't think you care, nor will me pointing out every detail of how and why you're wrong make any difference. How can you be so dismissive about the life's work of so many dedicated, brilliant people? You sound so ignorant you make me want to despair.

Brains evolve. It's quite possible for two humans to occupy the same point in time and space but also have significant variance in their cognitive abilities. Some minds are suited to understanding the big questions via reason and exploration whilst others react well to simple stories. Do not feel downhearted if you fall in to the latter catagory, it isn't your fault, it's God's.

These threads will vary hugely depending on which car site you are on.

Reckon Toyota Prius.Fish sticker on boot.net will be leaning a certain way.

Still,I love the intensity and the huge number of subaru driving professors

Is comprehensive, appropriate and extensive use of the wonderous breadth of the English language something to be ashamed of, or merely explaining oneself with eloquence?

Its seen straight through thats what it is. If this was the case there would be "eloquent" language used in all posts and day to day conversations...and nice use of a smily there, well done.

To be fair, SRSport, you demonstrated that you where ignorant of the Abrahamic tradition, which, given that we're discussing monotheism, disqualifies your opinion. It comes as no surprise to me that someone who believed God and Allah to be seperate deitys becomes defensive when confronted with 'big words'. Did you feel a little ashamed as you googled the word 'cognitive'? Go and do some reading and pop back in a few years. Peon.

To be fair, JTaylor, you're very free with your assumption on me, with which you are wrong. Does this disqualify your opinion? I have no problem understanding the 'big words', which qualifies me to comment on them as I can see how totally over used they are when trying to prove points. If people are so secure and sure of their points surely they would want to keep their wording as simple as possible to ensure there was no misunderstanding. Again it is seen straight through.

You appear to enjoy jumping to which ever conclusions suit you best, right or wrong, whether you can back it up or not.

Anyway, by saying they were the same God I still maintain is not correct as Allah referring to the Muslim God as we understand it, God the Christian God as 'God' has lead the faiths down very different paths and therefore not the same God. This was to what I was referring. I assume other people were referring to the literal translation of God, either way its interesting how over something so irrelevant people feel they are 1up while conveniently sidestepping finer points made.

May I ask why you are still posting on this thread? I dont get how it can still be going. What is it about people who believe in God that gets up your nose so much. I havent been posting much this time around and thats me who has a cause. I dont really understand what yours is. Im not trying to get at you I am just genuinely interested.

That is hilarious. You can only be judged by what you write here so of course conclusions will be made based on that. I can't see any sidestepping from the side which is using logic. I love these threads
