Latest update , the car isn't going to be ready to collect this weekend , most of the stuff will be done but the new front windscreen on order from BMW hasn't been delivered to RAC windscreens and won't be now until tuesday , it had a copy windscreen fitted , and I want an original back in it.

Anyway , the car is starting to take shape , the photos of it freshly painted look good , just looks a backwards step with the wet sanding lol.

Now starting to look good

The wet sanding has started

The edition black exhaust tail pipes being fitted , there are just 4 rivets holding them on so an easy swap

The wings had been fitted when I left which made it a whole lot better

I really , really can't wait to get it back

Cheers Ian

You say and it shows previous repairs being redone-does this mean that car has been accident damaged previously?

Got to say tho it looks very very smart in blue

Yes the filler on the bottom of the quarter panel was already there , looks like a parking scrape , the bumper has had paint as well , he thinks probably to cover stone chips

Under the bonnet was not colour coded to the car anyway , its got like a grey primer coating , the original paint stopped on the lip of the wings under the bonnet , plastic wings I might add lol , on a £60k car !

The inner wings are being left factory finished

Cheers Ian

Been up to the body shop this afternoon for a look , the glass company has let us down again , they were supposed to be there friday , then today , they say the screen hasn't been delivered from BMW now and they won't get it till wednesday , so they say they are definitely coming thursday to fit it.

I had arranged for a detailer to go up tomorrow morning but have had to postpone him now , I don't want him sorting the inside out for it only to get dusty again.

Its looking really good , can't wait to see it all finished and clean and waxed

Cheers Ian

Why didnt BMW make this colour from the start? I wonder if anyone from head office is following this thread. I cant believe anyone would be watching thinking, 'Hmm, yep glad we didnt offer that colour as an option.'

Looks epic... only difference I'd have made is fitting some MY10 LED rear lights while it was pulled apart. Well done though, amazing looking car.

Cheers,
Grant
