The 2010/11 Liverpool FC Thread
The owners of Liverpool Football Club today reported that a Texas State District Court has granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) enjoining the Board of Liverpool Football Club (LFC) from executing a sale of the Club to New England Sports Ventures (NESV). The court set a hearing date of October 25, 2010.
I can kind of see why they're doing this, the club is being sold for less than it's real value but because they owe just short of £300m to RBS, RBS can call in the marker and insist it is sold for what they're owed, a bit like a reposession.
No wonder John Henry flew is personally, he knows he's having it off with them, he has said this morning he is prepared to wait, well of course he is, if the price goes up by £100m do you reckon he'll be so keen to wait........ I wonder.
Very messy and very scarey stuff and United are just as susceptible

Caught the news footage of those poor people getting rescued yesterday.
Great to see the smiles back on their grubby little faces and faint glimmers of hope in their otherwise impoverished and mundane lives.
I think Everton beat them on Sunday though

Kid walking down the street, and a car pulls up next to him and down goes the window.
"£20 and a bag of sweets if you get in the car", says the driver.
The kid ignores him
"OK, £30 and TWO bags of sweets".
At which the kid turns to the driver and says, "Look, dad, I already told you. I'm not watching Liverpool again this season!"

Liverpool have been refused planning permission for a new stadium at Stanley Park. The Council have said it's ok to have a fair on at least once a year, but a circus every two weeks is taking the ****!!!
Panto season has come early this year.....
Another twist from Hicks and Gillette, what happens if Mill give RBS the loan money in full, the RBS will be happy and let this lot get on with it ?

Do you think John Henry will be any different.
He's buying a business to make money not because of his love of Liverpool, a la Hicks and Gillette, and that weird ****** that owns United. Expect ticket prices to double within 3 years, as they did at the Red Sox.
Personally I think he's a vulture and will probably sell this on at a massive profit within 3 years, as long as there is no debt attached.

Mr Justice Floyd issued an anti-suit injunction that rendered Hicks and Gillett's temporary restraining order, which they put in place to try and prevent a sale taking place, ineffective
it is like legal "Top Trumps"

His actions at our partner franchise ( I'm getting with the times ) Red Sox are a good benchmark.
