and the new man at liverpool is the answer to every scousers prayer eh. i was listening to talksport the other day and a past employee at the red sox came out and said that liverpool will be lucky if they get any big signings as he will invest in the youth, it'll be easy for the youngsters to get into the championship. sorry had to say it as its one of the only positives of being a united fan at the minute, watching liverpool destroy itself.

Oh well, we will find out Fergies thoughts at 14:00, in his pre Champions League press conference, where aparaently he will take questions on Rooney.

I read he will be taking questions with John O'Shea, surely if the Rooney story is all bollox he'd be sat there with Rooney.

Personally I think SAF was trying to protect and help Rooney with the "ankle injury" and giving him time to sort his life out, which has clearly affected his performances on the pitch. But it appears he does want to leave and depending on what paper you read there are various reasons behind this, money, playing staff, lack of signings.

I cant see him in Spain nor Italy which leaves the UK, I just cant see him leaving the North West, so it could be a trip to City which is quite incredible.

It's quite sad it has come to this I never thought he'd leave as he has always been very complimentary about SAF and I never expected him to turn Fergie over.

Do I want him to stay ? Yes, get your hrad down Wayne, sort your personal life out, forget about the money, you have more than enough and rediscover your form.

Rooney wants out. Clearly he knows he can get a lot more money at City or in Spain.

Did you hear the SAF interview, I thought he showed a lot of dignity and actually sounded quite hurt by it all. Like Fergie I cant quite understand Rooneys thinking, but I never want a player there that doesn't want to be there so sell him pronto.

My only hope is his tiny mind is scrambled after all the hype of the WC and then the NOTW stuff and he is just not thinking straight and his answer to his problems is to leave United

Does he need the money ? doubt it.

Looks like a cut price transfer back to Everton then

I was far more disappointed at the news Ronaldo wanted out. Rooney wanting to go is a bit of a shock admittedly but I'll get over it.

It's just a shame Fletcher Park and O'Shea dont feel the same way.

I think Fergie had finally had enough today.If it's true that Rooney had said as early as the 14th August that he wanted to leave, then SAF was doing his best to keep the pressure/media/fans off his back. In the end he's probably thought that he is sick of all the crap heading his/United's way so let Rooney explain himself from now on, so now as you say FM let's hear his reasons.

Personally I'm firmly in the 'sell him' camp, it's gone too far for a U turn by him and his personal life is a mess.

The big question is where to? His life would be a lot worse in Manchester if he moved to City. I know Tevez went there but he actually wanted to stay at United and didn't want to leave the area, and I never really blamed him for going there. Would United sell him to City? depends if they offer too much to turn down, £50-60m would be too much to turn down IMO with maybe £40m an acceptable bid from abroad. My feeling is Benzema +£20m is a deal to go for. Although now we shop at Tesco's in stead of M&S, it might be worth seeing what fringe players at Madrid we could get

i will come into the firing line here probably but i wouldn't be too upset to see rooney leave, ronaldo was different because he was a constant great player. rooney had last year but i can't really say we needed him majorly in other years and that he done alot then as well.

To the tune of 'Amarillo'...

When the day is dawning,
On a Scouser's Monday morning;
How I long to be there,
The bottom three is waiting for me there.
All around the city,
Where I lay my hat;
They say thanks to Torres,
The useless Spanish ****.

Is this the way to relegation,
The laughing stock of the nation;
Dreaming dreams of trips to Preston,
Days out in Scunthorpe wait for me.

Hurts doesn't it, knowing you club is on the same slippery slope.

First Ronnie, no money for SAF, Giggs, Scholes and Neville all going, no decent signings in the summer and now Rooney wants out. That'll be another £30mill in the Glasers back pocket.

Imagine Rooney in a City shirt.

I hope rooney stays until the summer then he can go for 5 mill, really rub it in

Makes me laugh on various forums utd supporters saying he is rubbish and they will be glad to get rid of him, yet last year the same people say he is the best in the world, yada yada yada. Personally I have never rated him as world class, the talk of him going to spain either barca or madrid is funny, he would only warm the benches at places like that. Only place I see him is at chelsea, drogba is 32 so they are going to need someone soon

Unfortunately i think he'll end up at City.

The question now is who do they replace him with?

Well that really depends on how much money the Yanks will give SAF to play with doesn't it?

Everton get 25% of anything over £27mill as well.

It just gets better and better.

Maybe we could sell him for £26.9mill, buy Torres for £10mill, and bank the rest.
Maybe a cheeky £5mill bid for Gerrard, Neville could do with a new boot cleaner!!!

Or wait untill next year and get them cheaper once they're a Championship club!!!

I'll have a shot of what this guy just injected squire

Tell you what, Rooney's well crap, only scored 34 times last season. How many did Adebayor or Bellamy get. Oh and Roque Santa Cruz

You mean give his everything all match long. Remind me, what is it players are moving to Citeh for since the Sheikh took over. Not £200,000+ a week is it.

Half arsed club that fell lucky, bit like Chelsea and the dirty Russian

Next.

Jonathan Ross's joke about the current Rooney situation:
"Why are United like the Sahara desert?"
"No Wayne"

i heard city cant buy him with the players theyve got at the mo or they wont be allowed in champ league (if they ever get in)

as for rooney i reckon fergie told him a few home truths and he didnt like it, fergie probably liked colleen cos she does seem less of a wag tham most of em.

what are the odds of everton buying him back - lol
