I think today had shown us two things.

1. Liverpool won't get in the top 4.
2. Utd won't win the league this year.

Sounds like a corking match though.

Rooney looks a spent force. United's soft underside exposed again. Pleased for Berbatov. 2nd goal was a classic.

Evans seems to have take a step backwards this season, and i'm not sure how O'Shea is getting picked over Rafael

To be fair - Rooney probably has a lot on his mind right now

Anyway - we'll deserved win in my opinion, should have been a lot more

Enjoyed it today, we certainly miss Rio at the back. Berbatov that is the player we thought we signed. I have faith in Rooney, he's a lot going on at the moment but he's been a very good player for 7 years now.

Nani was a bloody disgrace acting the way he was and needs to cut that out of his game

Seriously ?

I said we'd win by the odd goal but it should have been far more, I'd be worried if I was an LFC fan, other than Gerrard not a lot else there to get excited about, Torres just doesn't give a ****, just going through the motions.

He's nowhere near what he can be that's for certain. Numerous times yesterday he had time to turn and face the Liverpool CB's. when he did there was no desire to take them on or drive at them. That's a big sign to me that he's lost his confidence\mojo... call it what you will. Time will tell and I hope I'm wrong but he's a mile off being in form.

You're right he's not 100% but I wouldn't say he's a spent force, some of his long distance passing was a la Paul Scholes, nothing wrong with his vision imo.
What with his crap WC performances (not helped by the rest of the team) and his extra curricular activities of late he cant be 100% in his own mind, he needs to rebuild that and hopefully we will see the real Shrek sometime soon.

I'd be more concerned with Evans, he doesn't appear to have come on very much from this time last year, still making the same mistakes. Anderson also looked very very rusty, then again he is coming back from a bad injury but all the same I think he's in the last chance saloon this season.

Thankfully Scholes, Giggs, Nani and Berba are all buzzing

On another note I'd like to see more of Obertan this season, I guess we will on Wednesday night....

Yeah exactly, 5 games and 6 goals so far mean £8m is a bargain Lets see how many Vdv has at the end of the season.

I was thinking the same

Bebe has played in the reserves and although he was a bit raw he does look like he 'could' be a good find.

If you're a member of 'one united' you can watch his debut. He is a long way off fitness for the Prem IMO, but that is to be expected from the lower tiers of Portugese footy.

By the time Bebe came on last night I was too pissed to take any notice bar the one shot he had that hit a defender.

Cant believe how many attempts Scunny had, fair play to them.

Aye, we weren't bad, but you were fitter and sharper. Seven attempts, five goals, while we had twelve ON TARGET for two.

Your opener and Smalling's goals were well taken. Can we loan Smalling, please?

Great game the Scunny one, was very impressed by their attitude.

Well Bolton away today which is a bit of dodgy fixture for us, but i'm thinking a 2-1 win for us.

Another mediocre performance from United. O'Shea starting every game and Fletcher our main man in midfield.... simply not good enough for a top team.

Can't see why SAF is sticking with O'Shea either.
He's no better than Brown at defending, but Wes gives an extra option when going forward (ie he can actually cross then ball)

I Agree United should only be getting rid of players like O'shea, Park and Fletcher, they just aren't good enough for United, at best they should all be subs.

Evans is looking really sloppy this season and even Evra is taking his eye off the ball far too often.

Drop Rooney for a few weeks, send him on holiday to sort his life out and put Owen in there with Berbatov

That was **** poor and an ideal chance to close in on Chelsea. Im not sure Owen could cover 90 mins but he does seem to like the super sub role - a bit like Ole although he will do well to beat 4 goals in 10 mins

We have to start at the back and stop leaking goals. We really need Rio back and to stay fit to have any chance of winning owt this season.

I don't know why he is reluctant to play some of the younger hungrier players. They will be out to proove themselves and we certainly can't play any worse

with hindsight we should of offloaded for the large sums that were being thrown around in the summer. as they say george best was finished at 27, rooneys may have come a couple of years earlier.

Carrick,Hargreaves,Anderson,Gibson and Scholes and Giggs

Out of those six, Scholes and Giggs are the most creative players we have and if i could only pick two out of the six it'd be those two.

So we're relying on them and that is a terrible state of affairs to be in for a club like United. In effect IMO we need to replace all six of the above players, with two being attacking midfielders. It annoys the hell out of me to see Rafael Van Der Vart playing the way he is for Spurs at a cost of £8m.

So with £150m+ in the bank (i don't believe this for one minute), we need IMO a RB a LM and two-three CM. I honestly believe we're sorted up front, a mixture of Rooney's personal life and a team incapable of making decent chances will see us right with the additions of players in certain area's. It's just will/can we strengthen the team

Looks like Utd will soon need a striker eh?

Who'd have thought it. Sell Rooney to help the balance sheet.
