I've literally just bought another N64 off a lad at work for peanuts, sold my other one a few years ago

it's in the car now, can't wait to get home... Goldenye time!

very tempted by the remake on the Wii lets hope they keep it fairly original and don't **** it up

yeah, V-Rally was great at the time, although the slightest mistake lead to a massive crash, which forced you to be really careful

there is however an official WRC rally game out later this year, which could be promising

Anyone remember Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga? That rocked my world for the longest time, along with PGA Tour, Test Drive II (Ferrari 599 v Porker 959 v plod & oncoming traffic) and Lotus 3 (can't remember the full title, maybe Lotus Challenge 3?).

Accolade presents.......Test Drive Two.....takes me back to my misspent yoof....

That brings back the memories. I also have an Amiga 1200 with this on the hard drive, used to play it against a mate using a null modem cable. I should have been at lectures

Lotus Esprit 2 had a split screen, null modem mode so 4 people could avoid lectures at the same time. Beers and swearing were compulsory.

I think that might have been it (Lotus 2) - did that have a track editor? The one I remember did, so it could have been 3. You forgot to mention the jazz cigarettes, they made it all seem so much better.......

Hi Steve !

I remember the Lotus games, Stunt Car racer was indeed epic, used to make you move up and down whilst playing.

Indy 500 on the Amiga was pretty good, tood over from "Revs" as the game that actually had some indication of handling.

Supercars and Supercars 2 on the Amiga, kind of top down proto Gran Turismo with money changing hands and different cars to buy.

Nightmare Creatures on the PS1, now that was cool, really gothic and creepy, looked great at the time.

Test Drive, to be fair was tragic to play, it updated on a seemingly weekly basis on the screen but it did have the I am driving a Ferrari/Porsche/Vette Vibe, very cool, as was the music.

V rally was great, as were the early Gran Turismo games, remember scooting across from work to White City in Old Trafford with a mate to get it on release day, we got a free T shirt and I wore it for the next ten years, went in the rags for polishing a year or two back.

+1 for Road Rash awesome game..

Anyone rmmber Elite ( specifically on the BBC model B tape based )

Oh the years I spent on that one....

Made "elite" 4 times from scratch, all the newer coppies/remakes never seamed to hit the spot for me...

Although I do remember a fairly good atempt on the PC I think it was called Darkstar or something like that....

Feeling rather geeky now just thinking about it...

MediEvil

Great game play, a plot and plenty of hidden extras. It also didn't take itself too seriously.

It was also the first game to have a proper decapitation move, a few years before Mortal Kombat was banned for that silly head ripping death move. I spent hours on that although IK+ played far better.

BTW Jacko, loved Supercars 2 and I see what you mean about Gran Turismo. Just goes to show that Gran Turismo 5 needs oil slicks and missiles though

Was that the one where you could press "down+fire" and do a mad spinning back slash type of thing ?
