I still remember the original V Rally fondly - even though there's been tons of rally games since.....and we could do with a new rally game, they all seem to be aimed towards the "totally gnarly dude" American extreme sports market now.

Oh man, been getting all nostalgic looking at this site:
http://www.retrogames.co.uk/
So many great games on there.
Can't believe some of the prices for old amiga games. My Alien Breed collection is going for £44 on there! I thought it would be worth nothing now.
I saw one game (Shadow of the beast III) up for £50!

How about an updated version of Speedball 2 on the Amiga, the violence was fantastic.

I knew that you got more benefits with Xbox Live, didn't realise it went as far as cool old Amiga classics. I used to love Bitmap Brothers games. The Playstation network doesn't have any good stuff like that, I did download Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey from there though (looks crap, plays well).

I'd like to see Gauntlet remade with option for online players to select different characters but in "1st person-shoot'em up" format. Also should have characters other than elf, valkarie, thor and wizard with different strengths and weaknesses.

I stuck soooooo much money into the Gauntlet machine in my local leisure centre - loved it!
They did redo it and called it Gauntlet: Dark Legacy on the Xbox, but just didn't "feel" the same.

Trouble with a lot of the retro stuff on XBL though - you remember it fondly, you pay £8 or whatever to download it, and ten minutes later, you're realising that gaming has moved on a veeery long way in twenty five years or so and you're a teeny bit bored.....

Was that the two-stick robot shooting game that had (I thought at the time) really cool synthesised speech? Awesome if so. When I left school @ 16, I got a part time job and spent the rest of my life in an arcade with a mate who went on to be a game programmer. Used to play Track n Field all day for 10p as the difficulty resets.

Duke...............Nukem. Best ever 1st person. Loved the vulgarity!
Robocop vs terminator on mega drive, loved that game.
I agree Doom needs a good remake onto the ps3/xbox.

Postal 3 is on the way and should be released in the next month or so (although unfortunately they have swapped to third person).

@ Mart360 - Cheers, guess they'd kind of got melded together in my head. I loved Robotron in the arcade, mad sound effects. But Defender surely had the best old school arcade soundtrack. Could never play it for toffee though.

I dont understand why they dont remake certain games, destruction derby was brilliant in its day and must have made a lot of money, why hasnt anyone redone a game of that genre?
There has been a couple that have been racing with bonuses for damage like 'Flatout Ultimate Carnage' but that wasnt done very good IMO.
I loved Space Hulk on the PS1 too.

Was that the game with the cars and you had to blow eachother up? If it was I loved it! if you pressed the weapons buttons in a certain sequence you got better damage! Hours of fun!
