I must admit I quite like the look of the Astra in that picture. My main issue with it is that I just cant stop thinking of 2 words.. fcking chav. . all chavved up with an England flag, furry dice baseball caps...... you decide

Megane - see them at track days - they are too slow and 'French'.. Renaults have HUGE reability issues... HUGE - AVOID!! - do not touch

Seat Leon Cupra - nippy and you can add to the power - they have very poor rear visibility due to bad corner pillars, one I drove had aircon that stunk and I'd question reliability

Focus ST - hmmmmm you'd always be thinking of the Focus RS which is a great car

Golf GT Edition 30 - bit boring, heavy.. etc

I cant believe someone mentioned a Civic Type R - ahhhhh. Intregra - now your talking... yes please.. but needs some mods as thats the issue with Vtec's - as they say they needed a catchy phrase for the lack of power this makes until the last 2000 rpm - bit like an oversized turbo on a 2 litre without the actual grunt!

I'd be boring and go for the golf

Steve

The last A3 Turbo I had.. had the coilpack issues
Surprised the Golf has issues - I'm not as well read these days on these kinds of cars
Then again on a renault I owned not so long ago.. coilpack failure, electrics failure, aircon failure... all done under warranty but I sold the Lemony Turd a month later

So to sum up..............

VW = Boring and unreliable
Seat = Unreliable and it's a Seat
Megane = Unreliable and it's French
VXR = Chaviot and crap dash
Focus = Heavy on juice and has a better big brother

I think I had better invest in a Burberry baseball cap then. lol

Surely they're all heavy on juice if they are 225bhp plus??

FWIW with my ST usually gets around 250-275 miles from a tank. Not as bad as people make out really.
