8.5:1 IIRC block was decked and heads had a light skim but I'll check with my mate who built my engine and confirm

Broadly speaking the electric system on a car is a loop, think of it as the earth feeding the power in and the live taking it out to where it needs to go. So, if you uprate or add any system so that more power is drawn from the battery, be it constantly or in spikes, the earth system should be uprated to match

Electric wise, using a crappy earth is like leaving the standard injectors in place but uprating the rest of the engine to 500bhp spec

Looking forward to seeing the results, I'm running a very similar spec to you with a gt3040, how do you think the 35r will perform on the 2.1 mate?

Unfortunately not to hand, I might be able to find them somewhere in the archived drive on the dyno, just takes a bit of faffing.

Liner Issue? On a EJ22T. What went wrong, if you don't mind me asking Martyn?

The liner didn't fail, the block was damaged beyond normal repair as a result of severe overheating.

He's got a brand new one coming now, so that should be an end to all his problems.

Will have a look in the archive today and get it across to you if we still have it.
We are running in the car and mapping the 2.1, so when that is done I'll be able to let you have that graph too.

Here you go !

Graph 1 was when it had the Piper cams that are now fitted to Omars engine.

Graph 2 is a back to back with the Cosworth cams it has now. Bit of a loss top end, but a decent chunk of torque gained low down.

Thanks Martin, out of interest what were the piper cams and cosworth cams profiles? In using the jun 272's in mine with nicely ported and flowed v4 heads, is the graph on V power alone mate or a meth mix? Just trying to get a rough guesstimate at my cars power when complete, Sorry for invading your thread like this Omar.

Graphs were on VPower only, Omar has answered the Piper cam question, the Cosworth cams are 272 degree duration and 10mm lift.

If your going for cams in your build do not go for the piper reground cams they seem cheap at first but require some seriously oversized shims which only piper stock and cost almost £150 for a set,

Iv got the jun 272 duration 10mm lift omar, same spec as the cosworth ones, is your friend still using the 3040 on the 2.1 he is having built mate? Be very intersted to see the outcome as should be similar to mine, has he had any head work done do you know?
