Hi
I've got all the new oils in my car, just thought I'd give some feedback, the Silkolene Pro S (Fuchs Titan Race S) seems to have reduced the engine noise (tapping) which wasn't bad but you could hear it when you had the bonnet up. I am most impressed though with the Motul Gear 300, which I've got in the gearbox and rear Diff, it has made a noticeable difference to gear changes and selecting reverse, it slides into gear alot smoother now, so it must provide better lubrication to the transmission then the standard oil, very impressed. thanks again Oilman

No worries mate, i ordered 6 Litres of it, and ended up with 2 Litres left over, 5 Litres is enough for gearbox and diff with some left over for top ups or spillages

Hi
I would probably use a 5w-40 synthetic unless the oil temps are getting over about 120C.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx
Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul Sport/300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim (Oilman)
I have an 03 UK STI running 340BHP and just ticked over 100,000 Miles.
I have been using Millers CFS 10w50 but I see here you recommend the 5w40 CFS NT?
It is my daily which sees a few spirited drives and eventually some track days. Which is the better option?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Tim,
What would be the benefit of the lower viscosity oil? Slight reduction in engine friction therefore a slight improvement in fuel economy and power?
Cheers, Nick

Hi Roy
A 10w-50 is ideal for your car and these are the ones that we stock.

They are all really good oils to pick from and any of them will be fine for it.
Cheers
