used it twice now - usually use esso super unleaded as they're closer. seems ok, and is actually cheaper than esso!!!

Yeh, yipdidee! It's an utterly pointless report. Like saying "Wowee, we've discovered that first class post is delivered quicker than second class post (usually!)! Aren't we clever?"

Still got them some sponsorship though, didn't it?

First thing I noticed. TBH, if it's NOT giving more power, what is it for?

Personally I never touch Tesco. Their supplies were never trustworthy, I'd run the car near to empty and they wouldn't have any 99 octane, no reason, no apology.

PLUS, they ALWAYS bang 2p a litre on their fuel prices when they are doing the, "Spend £50 instore, het 5p per litre off fuel," thingy. Dishonest gits.

The Tesco garage I use it's usually more than the 5p they're giving. It creeps up 1p here 2p there. Never goes back down either. Trouble is my nearest Shell garage is 15 - 20 min drive away which is always in the opposite direction to that I'm going. The alternatives would be BP or Sainsburys. So I have to stick with Tesco.

suggest you re read

" However, knowing full well that there was a high probability of a placebo effect John was unwilling to simply assume the feeling was accurate so when TMS received its new Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno they set to work testing all the premium fuels against each other and standard 95 octane fuel"

Although the power gains and economy were against the 95 ron as that is where the biggest difference would be

The link I posted was just to explain the reason for the name change. Personally I prefer optimax as thats what mine was mapped on, however I do occasionally use tesco 99 with no probs whatsoever (gives me more pops and bangs as well)

i had seen that. But the comments still stand, no results from any other fuel. why do i think if it came out better than vpower it would say so?

Its the additives that make each super fuel different, Super Unleaded is pretty much the same everywhere without any additives. BP collect BP Ultimate from the Esso Terminal in W.London and just put their own additive in it.

Roush technologies are a customer of ours, we have supplied both Esso and Tesco (before Tesco fuel became exclusive) Super Unleaded and they told us the difference when testing is insignificant.
