I had noticed they were fairly soft so haven't put to much force through them.

Just make sure that the socket you use is a tight fit or they will round. Mine went in the bin.

Cambelt, gear oil, diff oil and lightweight crank pulley all done.

Certainly seems to go through the revs a bit quicker, noticed it more in 5th gear at 70mph and a slight press on the loud pedal and it's pulls quicker than it did before.

Spark plugs up next in a few weeks, and need to get some braided brake hoses for a brake fluid change.

Managed to sort out the notchy steering by tightening the belt, but also noticed a whining noise when driving at around 60mph, seems to go if i let off the accelerator and it's coming from beside or behind me, can't really tell exactly where from.

Haven't updated in nearly a year, not much has changed in that time and passed another MOT with no advisories.

First up was new seats, which came out of a P1. Were a bit of a pain to get aligned but with the help of my old man sitting on them we got the bolts in, also had to use a resistor to get rid of the airbag light.

From this.

To this.

Recently added a Tegiwa brake stopper, which has firmed up the brakes along with braided lines and new fluid.

Picked up a few things from members on here, oil cap in the group buy which needs a smaller rubber gasket so it aligns, matching battery clamp and put on some carbon wrapped sidemarkers today.

Lightweight crank pulley at last MOT.

Got some stiffer ARB links off ebay for £10 and had some left over WR blue spray paint so tarted them up a bit as they were looking a bit weathered.

Also had a good clean of the arches, took me a good few hours to get them all done.

Before.

After.

Rays locking wheel nuts, ideally wanted the blue ones but could only get red. The old nuts i had on had twisted when i removed them. If anybody has blue ones in good nic and fancy's a swap then let me know.

22mm adjustable rear ARB fitted today, purchased from bonesetter on here.

Took it out for a quick spin and initial thoughts are of the rear feeling a lot tighter and turn in seems to have improved.

Will probably repaint it at some point in WR blue to match the links.

A few more changes in the last month or so including removing the aircon and the crash bar underneath.

In the process of collecting bits to overhaul the suspension side of things. Have bought a set of sti suspension, need to decide to stick with the H&R lowering springs that are on there but are a bit rusty or get some new ones, some alloy front arms and rear trailing arms and lateral links.

For the front i'm looking to get the whiteline caster/camber top mounts, also the roll centre kit and replace the rear wishbone bush with a castor bush rather than getting the anti lift kit, and the rear arms are going to be rebushed.

Will be repainting all items and going to add grease nipples for the rear shocks, not sure what colour to paint them in but will probably go with red.

Few pics.

Alloy front arms after a quick clean up, also with some replacement front bushes.

Lateral links and trailing arms.

A little tool i made for removing bushes.

Like what you've done with this mate. Only thing I'm not keen on is the sunstrip, but otherwise looks awesome I'm itching to get a newage now!

Sunstrip was on when i bought it, probably going to need a new screen at some point due to a rather large stone chip which is above the steering wheel and i think is to large to fill, as it has to be less than a cm wide within a 30cm wide area across where the wheel is.

It's coming together slowly, just trying to get little bits sorted each month and hopefully have it ready to do a few track days next year.

Will be painting all suspension parts red, have some sti suspension to refurb and repaint the rear ARB.

Just having a small problem with one of the links as it's shorter than the others and i don't think that should be the case and waiting to hear back from the seller.

Thread about that can be seen here.

Not difficult, i went down the route of cutting the orange plastic up inside the light with a pair of wire cutting pliers. Only took a few minutes, wasn't to sure on the oven method so tried the other way first.

With winter aproaching and crap weather on it's way i have decided it's time to take the car off the road and start sorting out a few bits.

First off was a tidy up of the intercooler, got some aluminium coloured paint from halfords and after a quick sand and spray it came up fairly well.

Before

After

Was then going to change the spark plugs after the trip to halfords, got the spark plug socket but stupidly forgot the feeler gauge, so will be tackled tomorrow.

Lots of stuff planned, just finding the time to do it.

Looking to rebush the rear subframe and add locking bolts and paint the subframe aswell, should keep me fairly busy over the winter.

Still trying to find one lateral link but everyone who is breaking a car either never replies or says they will get to that point of dismantling and let me know and then all goes quiet again.

Made a start early this morning and got the spark plugs changed, not to bad a job to be fair apart from the odd fiddly bit. After just under two hours the car's all back together and running nicely.

This was what the removed spark plugs looked like upon removal, do they look as they should?

Also the subframe lock kit turned up.

And now have my refurbed STI intercooler fitted.

Rain halted play as i was getting soaked so the strut brace can wait for another day.

Haven't updated in a while as not much has been going on. Didn't use the car over most of the winter but had it's MOT last week and passed with one advisory on a warn front droplink bush.

Hopefully over the coming few months will be able to find the time to get parts fitted, and get the handling sorted.

First purchase of the year, hardrace roll centre correction joints from apex performance.

Should put the wishbones back closer to the original angle they were before car was lowered.
