Few pics of my 01 bug
#33
Discs and pads arrived from Ian a few days ago, was hoping to have the bells anodised blue but the anodiser was busy and that didn't happen. So i took it upon myaelf to colour match them to the car.
Bells after a light sanding.
Colour coded and reasembled.

Have recently ordered a few bits for the Bug as follows:
Valve caps (fitted)
Standard air box and K&N panel filter (fitted)
Front and rear strut braces
Recirc valve
whiteline rear drop links
Got the airbox on today, then moved onto the front strut brace and my ratchet broke so that will have to wait for another day.
Future purchases will be 22mm front ARB and 24mm rear ARB, front droplinks and drivers side fog light.

That's a classis 3-port that looks like it uses a different plug
I also think you'll find that the blue drop links are for steel lower arms and most bugs have alloy ones, the holes should be the same diameter at both ends for alloy arms.
Looks like it'll be a goodun when it all comes together though

Looks a very nice example mate, and im loving the little touches...
I did the same as you with my WRX UK300 and regretted it. I was chasing STI power when I should have just bought an STI... dont make the same mistake mate Good luck though and im sure you will love the outcome, a few words of warning though, watch the standard clutch for slipping, carefull with the gearbox (ie no launches) and as you push more torque through the tranny it can dsiplace the NPS which may need replacing, but this is a little worrying at first as the ECU reports Misfires and not NPS fault.

They were advertised for newage but if the front links don't fit then i can sell them on and replace with the correct item.

Don't mind the look of the standard lights, have taken out the orange indicator lense and they look better than standard, may look to sti lights in the future.

The morettes had a fault, where I had no full beam and when switching to full beam it would cut out one of the dipped beam, hence the lower asking price and need to get mot done in the next month so switching to the standard lights was the easier and possibly cheaper option than trying to find out what is the fault in the morrettes.

Fog lights fitted with new bulbs and headlights all wired up and new bulbs. Orange cup in the indicator lense removed and i'm happy with how it looks.
Just insurance, MOT and tax and then it's back on the road, and sort out the splitter which was damaged by a hidden high kerb, not sure whether to colour code or go Matt black.

Got some new wheel nuts fitted, D spec long nuts had to be carefull with them as the colour comes away very easily. didn't want to spend a lot on them so they'll do for the price and i like the look of them, will look better and stand out more once the wheels are refurbed in gunmetal grey.
