Would that not be small for a pistol as probably the most widely used pistol caliber would be the 9mm.

Ok, seems a bit harsh but it sends out a message that an illegally held firearm is not a little mistake or a harmless old antique, its contraband, it can kill, even if you are a grandmother and hopefully it might make anyone thinking it may be "cool" to own some Eastern European Luger copy that it will land you in Jail, not probation, not community service, Jail.

I suspect Whitehaven had may have increased the sentence here, fair enough, the **** knowingly had a live, unlicenced firearm, a few bullets away from a massacre, saying that, the last three Massacres in this country have been with licenced ones.

I don't want to jump to conclusions on the limited details provided but I'll bet she's a right old slapper who's been no stranger to the police or the gin bottle. Probably adorned with tats and chucks arrows down the pub 2 or 3 nights a week (when she's not dealing drugs).

Old Biatch deserves every day of the 5 years.

On the other hand, she could be a mentalist.

You don't keep an antique gun under the mattress!

So I would have to agree with the judge on this occasion. Sounds like the family are scum anyway

Do you know she is of no risk to the public? Not to be blunt but it appears people thought the same of Bird, and look how that turned out....

Not to mention, even if we assume she was/is of no risk, can the same be said for her son, who may well have known it was there?

With her background, the one thing she can't be is a bint according to the original Arabic meaning.!

Browning, not colt (the old M1911 is a .45 anyway). Probably one of these.

There always used to be an old pistol in my grandad's shed. We used to play cops and robbers with it. It must have been very old but seemed to be in reasonable condition.

It disappeared eventually, bet it might have been valuable.

Hard to say, I was too young at the time to bother about the make etc.
