although i have seen a company that makes heated front windscreens for the scoobs but i cant remember for the love of me what there name was on where they were!

would be good to meet some of you who have done these projects on track one day!

I bought a trailor but it takes up half the garden. Ive already put alot of time into sanding painting etc but can't decide between making the car road legal or not. Mind you it must feel good turning up with a track only car!

I'm quite lucky really as I own a recovery company so don't have the problem of trying to find a way of getting the car around which is really the reason why I decided to make it into a track car rather than break it up! Yea that's true and I guess with it being a track only car you can give it a bit more stick than if it was your road car because at the en of the day if you damage it it's only got to go back on the trailer and sit in your garage waiting to be fixed when you have the time and money rather than taking time off work and having to walk to work and spending money that you don't have to fix it just so you can get around!lol

Hi guys sorry for the delay, been getting funds together so I can carry on. Apexi came, got it for a bargain, bit scratched so I trimmed the case as its on show.

I've cut some metal sheet to blank off the speaker holes etc and trimmed, just need to paint the parcel shelf.

After much grief I've finished the engine, fmic, breather pipes and oil leak on rocker.
I needed to shorten the air filter silicone hose on the maf as the intercooler pipework pushed up the cone filter stopping the bonnet shutting. Ive fitted a front mount before but this one was a joke. I had to make several cuts to fit the pipework!

Ive also managed to get a set of Yokohama A048's, should do a good job. Just need to keep them warm over winter!

Finished the bumper with some honeycomb mesh, made some indicator brackets and made the hole for the tow strap. Put far too much time into preping this fibreglass piece of s**t. Never again! I'll finish front end tomorrow and get a pic up. Also managed to get the cage floor plates done, dreaded it but was quite straightfoward.

Fitted the bumper then realised the grill makes headlight fitting damn hard!! Had to fit bumper first as the fittings are under headlights. Time to get cage in now.

Believe it was 2mm mate, sturdy enough. 3mm was a bit heavy and overkill, wouldnt advise it.

I can't believe how many white classic cars are being built at the mo! Managed to get the welding done, not bad for our first effort, does the job I hope.
Looking at painting the floor now. Anyone recommend a good dash flocker?

Managed to get floor painted and cables covered, looks neater.

Cage painted in Porsche GT3 green, pretty close match to wheels.

Rear section in, happy with that. just waiting on dash flocking so I can fit front legs now

Thats it for this year. Painted the handbrake as the rust was doing the interior no favours and I had some paint left over.

Cage stickers, handbrake and seat mounted. Need blue seat cushions trimmed next. Steering wheel quite close and I've still gotta get a snap off boss on yet. Regretting getting a dished wheel now, should be ok if I get a snap off and boss combined.

Also got some grip tape for floor, very grippy.

MERRY XMAS!!

Bit more under way...

Dash has been sent to Banbury flocking services so I can get the rest of the interior in.

Battery cage mounted...

Finally got my Takata harness, lot of fakes about I noticed.

Ive stripped the rear doors down, cant believe how much weight came out of just the rear doors!

Ordered some Lexan sheet for rear windows for £50, better than £220+ I was quoted. Need to find a decent way of bolting the top. Got a few ideas to try, any tips?
Windows cut, really easy to cut with a fine tooth jig saw after I heard many horror storys.

Big thanks to Banbury Flocking services, quick turnaround and top job!
Dash in...

Dials fitted and shift light...

Made up a centre panel...

Now to make a panel for the dash centre, bit tricky as its curved.
